I wish I had some Eggs Benedict. I really do.
I have plenty of eggs and a lemon but no Canadian bacon, no real butter.
And oh yeah, no English muffins either.
Damn.

Well, there goes that dream.

I guess I'll cook something, although I should make a smoothie with fruit and yogurt.

I don't want a smoothie.

I want Eggs Benedict.

I also want Tearful Dishwasher to start cooking again over at Plate and Fork.

I just want a lot of things, don't I?

Good morning. The chickens are out and running around, it's a beautiful morning and I'm hungry. And I do have eggs.
It's a start.

I wonder if they're going to have church today next door. They were there until late last night, getting things ready, it looked like.

We shall see. I sort of wish someone had bought that church and turned it into a charming little cafe. Where they serve Eggs Benedict.
I could get up on Sunday mornings and say, "Let's go to Egg Church!"

I have a rich fantasy life. And lots of eggs.
Like I said, it's a start.

  1. Just our usual spartan breakfast on the boat and then a walk on the beach. Cool here today and I love it! Happy Sunday to you.

  3. I have eggs, lemon, Canadian bacon, and enough butter to satisfy even Paula Dean.

Come on over and bring the English muffins. I'll cook for you. We can eat on the porch.

  4. My town (once famous for chickens) has an annual Butter and Eggs Parade.

  5. Syd- I eat spartan breakfast every day of the working week. But today I woke up and wanted lemon and runny yolks and creamy sauce and...
I cooked tiny potatoes from the garden and tomatoes and onions and peppers, also from the garden and cracked an egg over it and let it cook with a few drops of lemon juice and a little bit of cream cheese melted over. Oh. There was salmon in there. It was good.

Anonymous Jo- I ate all of that today. Except for bacon. And if I'd had some, I surely would have eaten it.

Pamela- It's probably a good thing I didn't have all the ingredients. I sure would have loved eating on your porch, though. And to think you would have cooked for me!
    Heaven.

A- We should have an egg parade in Lloyd.

  6. Man if there is one thing I crave about 6 times a month it is eggs benedict. I usually have eggs, always have butter but never remember to buy canadian bacon or english muffins. Sometimes I think the universe is cruel.

  7. One of the things that I miss most about being in a relationship is cooking for someone, anyone. I'm reminded of the movie Under the Tuscan Sun, where Frances learns that there are always others for whom to cook. I need to take that lesson to heart.

All Raleigh wants are pizza, pasta, and grilled cheese sandwiches. I can cook so much more than that.

All I want is someone to smile at as I serve him dinner. After the last debacle with the pretty boy, maybe I'll go apply at Cracker Barrel instead.

I look pretty good in an apron.

    XOXO.
