Who Knew?

I tell you what.

Actually, I don't know what to tell you.

This being a grandmother thing is so much more than I ever knew it could be and I'm the worst of the worst when it comes to thinking that everything my grandson does is the best, smartest, cutest, most amazing...okay, so it's like he's the penultimate result of all evolving that has ever been done in the history of the universe.

I know this can't possibly be true but hey- someone has to represent the final perfection of the human race, right? Why shouldn't it be Owen?

So, okay, I'll shut up.
Here's some pictures.

And we have really high ceilings.

Does he love his Bop? Oh yeah. And somehow, in the last few weeks, Owen has learned to use a fork better than many adults I know. He ate clam spaghetti with his own tiny fork quite, quite successfully. The dogs are not happy with this new development. And he did not get his hand-eye coordination from me. I wouldn't even try to lie to you about that.

And does his Bop love him?
Oh my yes. His Bop loves him.

When I washed his hair I had to give him the traditional Ed Grimley style. I showed him what he looked like in the mirror. He was gleefully delighted.

And now he's asleep and his mama will be home soon and Mr. Moon and I are watching the American Idol auditions and don't you judge me- I love the auditions. Don't really give a shit about the show but the auditions are fun.

Sweet dreams to all.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. I just finished watching Amer Idol too (love to zip thru the commercials with dvr) and I had about 78 tears from the last story and had to blow my nose about 5 times.
I am not surprised at all about Owen's excellent hand/eye coordination recalling how soon he mastered many spatial milestones.
His mama has got to love all these photos of what he is up to in grandmother and Bop's care.

  3. Ms. Moon he has gotten so big! Precious in every way. The love between a grandparent and grandchild is something so amazing.

So I haven't watched American Idol much this year (or ever really) but I have been following all the press about JLo & Steven Tyler being new judges. Sounds like a nice addition.

I always like "visiting" your house...reminds me of home.

  4. Have a good evening. I remember that hair style as my mother did it to me--in fact there is an old black and white photo of me after a bath with my hair like that.

  7. I imagine there will be no glass ceiling for Owen to have to break through -- he's going to always have open sky at his disposal. I didn't say exactly what I meant -- which is that the heavens are his, thanks for his grandmother and Bop.

  10. The auditions are fun-ny! :)We don't have cable, or satellite or anything but I do youtube those auditions from time to time.
And as a Grandmother, you have the right to believe with every ounce of your being that your grandson is the best in the world, because the "best" can only be determined by perspective anyway :)

  12. The sucky auditions are fun. I liked that Green Bay Packers fan last night. She was a riot. As well as that black lady who was all mad about being told she wasn't good enough. Then they started showing the clips of all the people who freaked out after being told no. Cracked me up!
