Mothers Day

Sometimes getting off of Dog Island is as difficult as getting to it. Today is one of of those days.

We got up this morning and Jessie and Vergil made us a wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit salad and granola and yogurt and honey and them we took a long walk down the bay. We came back and pulled leftovers out of the refrigerator, had our lunch, began to pack up and then a front rolled in.
Nothing to do but wait it out.
Which we all did with books and pillows as the rain fell.

Mr. Moon has taken Hap and Julia down to the little air strip where Hap's plane is and then he'll come back and we'll load everything else up and cross the bay.

It's been a beautiful weekend and Vergil and Jessie were right to arrange it. The company was perfect and yesterday's visit with Lily and Jason and the boys was one of the best times I can ever remember.

Mothers Day, 2012. A very, very good one. A quiet celebration of all of us women with stretch marks on our bellies, our thighs, our hearts.

Bless us all.

Love...Ms. Moon

  9. The front came in here as well. It was gusting strongly here. Hope that you made it across okay without getting doused. Sounds like you had a great time.
