Yes. I Wear Black Socks When I Walk. So Sue Me

Another gorgeous walk this morning and I had a nice chat with another woman who walks in this community. She is young and beautiful. I don't know why I had to point that out, but I did. We agreed that we like the sidewalks and that there is too much traffic (in Lloyd! yes!) and she warned me, as everyone does, about walking in the woods. I told her I've been doing this for ten years and so far, I've never felt threatened by man nor beast.

So. Speaking of walking.

Do you think I need new shoes?
I'm thinking I do. Jesus but I am hard on shoes. My toes go through them within weeks and no, I am not buying a different brand. I've been wearing Sauconys to run and walk in since I was in my twenties. They are the only brand that has a heel narrow enough for me. And that is going to be my errand for tomorrow- to get new shoes. Today I have my boys again and I think we might go to the Bad Girls Who Get Saved By Jesus Thrift Store after I pick up Owen.
"Pick out a toy! Any toy!" I say magnanimously. They think I'm awesome. And of course, I am when it comes to thrift store toys. For five bucks I can make them the happiest boys in the world.

And that's about it. Mr. Moon left the house about 6 a.m. and he just called to tell me all is well up in Georgia. The geneticist just called and the results of one of his tests his back and he does not have what we thought he had and so what the hell is it?
Life is just fucking mysterious.

And on we go.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. I'm sorry I don't get here as often as I'd like, but congratulations on that beautiful little boy-chick. What a darling. All the best to the parents and everyone else!

  2. I have the opposite problem, every shoe is too narrow for my Fred Flintstone feet! Seriously, they are as wide as they are long. Comfy shoes are so hard to come by!
Maybe you should carry a whistle when you go walking?
It's so beautiful today, I keep having to check the calendar!

  3. You do need new shoes - ha ha. Owen is really tall! Wow he is growing up so fast! Have fun with them today!

  4. I had to laugh at the picture of your shoes--only because I wear out my shoes in the same way. My husband always teases me because I have crazy alien toenails that stick up and wear holes in the tops of my shoes. Glad I'm not the only one that does!

  5. I wear Sauconys and the wear out in the big toe. Always. I guess they need to keep selling shoes one way or another.

  6. I hate having to buy new gym shoes. Though as infrequently as I wear my newest ones, they'll last forever.

  7. People in Brooklyn wear black socks, so it must be hip. (Yes, I have black socks
    on.)

  10. Wow, you ARE hard on shoes.

I guess it's good that Mr M doesn't have whatever-we-though-it-was, but yeah, hopefully you can get to the bottom of things sometime soon!

  11. Nancy- I have been thinking about you. I miss you! I hope all is well.

Heartinhand- We are all built differently from the feet on up, aren't we? Sadly, a whistle would do no good unless it was to scare off a non-human animal. No one would hear it in some of the places I walk.

Joanne- Yes. I did indeed need new shoes. Ha!

Lora- No. You are definitely not the only one!

Birdie- I can deal with the toe thing but when the sides start breaking down, it's time for new ones.

Ellen Abbott- I always think mine should last forever and am shocked when they don't.

A- I believe I am the opposite of hip.

Leisha- The Fashion Police have never heard of Lloyd, thankfully.

    Angella- I agree.

jenny_o- And that makes three of us!

Steve Reed- Yep. Not Country Music Television disease. I am becoming jaded about it all and think they won't ever figure it out.
