Magnolia June Is Here!

Born tonight at 6:52 p.m. 8 pounds, 13 ounces. 21 inches long.
Lily was magnificent.
So were the midwives. A woman named Tenacia, a student of Diana who has worked in L&D for ten years and who is studying to be a midwife was the one to catch her. There was a cord around Maggie's neck but Tenacia slipped it over her head and Lily, who was determined to get that child born NOW, pushed out her daughter's body and all was well.
Perfect as a pink perfection.

Pictures.

Lily between contractions.

Owen meets his sister.

Gibson meets Maganolia. As he says.

May holding her niece.

The adoration begins.

And the greatest cuddle in life.

A perfect amazing birth. All went exactly as it should. Lily's sisters there, her husband being...well, perfect. Oh, Jason. How I love you.

Boppy hung out with Owen, holding August. Gibson was at his other grandmother's but so soon to arrive. Yes. Perfect.

And now I am home and exhausted and sipping a huge martini. At two o'clock this afternoon, I was at the orthopedic clinic with Owen and his daddy and his Boppy.

The X-rays showed that the fracture was slight and that he could get a cast, rather than surgery with pins. He was so brave.

I told him before I left his house tonight that I was going to come over tomorrow to get him and his brother for a few hours so that Mommy and Daddy and Magnolia could get some rest.
"Are you insane?" he asked. "I've been waiting my whole life for a sister. I'm not leaving."

Well. We shall see about that.

It's raining. Blessings of water on the night of Magnolia's birth. Another thing Owen said tonight was, "This is the first night my sister is sleeping outside of her mommy's tummy."
May the sound of rain be a sweet reminder to my first granddaughter's night outside her mommy's tummy of the heartbeat she has known all of her life so far.

Good night, y'all. MerMer is fading.

All love. Amen.

Ms. Moon
