A Full Day

Owen pulled his own tooth at the Chinese restaurant today. It was awesome. And he was incredibly proud.

We did go to the Jr. Museum, or as it is more correctly known, The Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science. Those of us who have lived here for a long time still and will always call it The Junior Museum or, for short, simply The Junior.

We met up there with Jessie and August and Billy and Waylon. Billy's a baby grabber too.

Look at those little starfish hands on Billy's shoulder.

We didn't get around to the trail which leads over and across and beside the animal habitats until much later than we usually do and the animals were up and active. We saw baby panthers playing and the wolves and the deer and the bear and otters. We did not see the skunks, but we smelled them. We also saw a vulture who was quite friendly and came over to the fence and hung out with us. It was probably the closest I've ever come to a vulture and I was surprised to find that he seemed curious and interested and that his face was not at all unattractive. And let's face it- vultures are a very, very important part of our eco-system.

We told Owen that boys who fall over the fence are fed to the bears.
He did not believe us.
Remember when he used to say, "Mer. I do not beleeb you,"?
I miss that.

But I think the boys had a good time.
So did the mamas and grandmama.

Thank you, Billy, for the picture.

The cypress trees were ethereally beautiful against the blue cloudless sky.

And now I am home and Mr. Moon has gone to a basketball game and I am sitting here typing with one cat on my arm and one cat behind me on the chair, bumping me frequently to remind me that he is there.

Oh sigh.

I guess we have another cat.

Things to do this week:

1. Welcome Granddaughter to the planet.
2. Take Jack to get his balls removed.
3. And so forth.

Life.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. August looks like he likes Billy. I so like you for taking care of the cats, especially because you have the grand kids and a full life. You are my kind of people. If you were in front of me right now I'd give you a great big hug. I can't wait until the new baby is born too.

  3. I forgot to mention how beautiful Owen is in the photo minus his sweet little tooth. I always feel a bit sad when a child loses their baby teeth, they are just so sweet and little .

  5. I knew it. Handsome Jack is now a part of your wonderful family! Oh, and August..what a doll. He looks like such a calm, good-natured baby. My granddaughter lost the exact same tooth as Owen. They're always lso proud of the loss of that first tooth, which reminds us how fast time passes. But...you are so lucky to have a fresh supply of babies on hand! Lol!

I know. Losing teeth is such a real true sign of growing up. Sigh...

Lisa C- Yes! No shortage of babies here! We are lucky.

Angella- I can't wait for the day when you and your sweet man will know these same feelings.

    Elizabeth- Haha! You caught one.
