Mick Jagger in Lloyd.
Just kidding. But he was in Florida. Our Gail posted this on my Facebook today, pointing out that it looks more like Lloyd than Orlando, which is where they were. I'm glad to know that Mick got out in nature. I bet Keith got out in a bar. Right now this second, I'd rather be in a bar than out in nature, no matter the company in either. I just took my walk and I swear to god...okay. I need to stop talking about the heat. It's Florida. It's hot.
The heat index is 106.
Not going to talk about it.
I think I discovered why our power went out the other night.
Dead tree down. See the burn marks in the second photo?
Could have been spontaneous combustion.
No. Not going to talk about the heat.
I don't want to talk about the news either.
No. Let me correct that. I can't talk about the news.
How could anyone sit in a church for an hour and then...
No.
I swear to god, if the boys weren't coming over in a little while and spending the night, I would start drinking straight vodka right now.
No. I wouldn't. But I'm going to say this- mix guns and insanity and hate and racism and there is never going to be an end to tragedy and horror and grief and pain and blood.
And as a white person, all I can do is to apologize over and over and over again but there is no end to that either and it does no more good than complaining about the heat.
I guess the best I can do today is to love those around me. That's all I can come up with anyway.
Love...Ms. Moon
Sounds like you need AC in and out!
ReplyDeleteAs for Mick, he's one of my pet peeves so it's fine by me if he is somewhere else than here :)
All the hate and fear and guns that have been ginned up since Obama was elected is destroying this country. And those that did the ginning up will never admit their own culpability. Who needs an invading army to bring us down when we are tearing this country down from the inside.
ReplyDeleteJust sad....
ReplyDeleteWeather happens everywhere, you would have to move with the season to always be in nice weather but who wants to be a gypsy without a garden
Oh, yes to all of that. And South Carolina needs to quit flying that fucking flag.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the picture. It is hot here to but I will not complain, I like hot much better than cold. Gail
ReplyDeleteI don't know that we have to apologise for crazed racists. Our priviledge, yes, but you don't have to put yourself in any bracket connected to murdering, hate filled scum. I know there is always outcry about people with brown skin being called terrorists and white people being called mentally ill, but in my estimation, anyone who opens fire on groups of people is mentally ill. The thing in their head that tells them it's a good idea is broken and sick and wrong. I don't know that it's criminal in some particular way, I think it's just twisted. Call it evil sure, but it's a deluded madness. How can it not be?
ReplyDeleteNot that it makes me feel sorry for the hateful fucker. Disgusting.
I don't know how you manage the heat. It would be hell for me. Hell. Give me cold any day! That you can manage with wool and whiskey :)
I don't watch the news anymore but it is usually on when I go into my client's homes. I can't escape it. It upset me so much my stomach started to hurt and I just wanted to go home. Why, Ms. Moon? Why?
ReplyDelete"Mostly I’m tired of people being ugly to each other. I’m tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There’s too much of it. It’s like pieces of glass in my head all the time."
I just heard Fox News say that it probably was not a racial hate crime but a crime against christians. And, had a black preacher telling every other preacher that they ought to arm themselves so they can protect their "flock." Really?! Fuck Fox!
ReplyDeleteFox are a big part of the fucking problem - where did this guy get the idea that black people were raping his women and taking over his country? Not f rom reality. Sure from a history of fear and hatred and racism, but it's all distilled into pure, perfect bullshit from their very own Fox TV.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad time here. But I am not surprised. Like the heat, the hatred has festered. Sadly, not surprising at all.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that. It's easy for people to believe that all the problems in their lives are due to some "other," even though it's completely simplistic and, oh yeah, incorrect.
ReplyDeleteAnd the gun culture -- good grief. Don't even get me started. Dave and I rewatched "Bowling for Columbine" the other night, and we were marveling at how, when that movie was made, Columbine stood for an unthinkable, evil event. And since then, the world has seen far worse! (Newtown, Utoya Island.)
