What We Eat

I figured out that between our pancakes this morning and our supper tonight, we have had ten different fruits and vegetables. They are as follows:

Sweet potatoes
Peaches
Bananas
Corn
Potatoes
Onions
Red cabbage
Carrots
Green beans
Mushrooms

Plus venison.
Plus lots of garlic.
Plus pecans
Plus flax

Many colors. Many flavors.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

I can't wait for Owen to come over tomorrow to see what of the leftovers he will want. Corn, for sure. Plus, there's already a smoothie waiting to be blended up for tomorrow morning and he'll want some of that. There's pineapple and berries and bananas and dried cherries and prunes and almonds and flax and yogurt in that.

We eat good around here. I ain't kiddin' you. We do. This may be our saving grace.

  4. You do eat well there. But the best part is that when I visit not only do I eat well too but I get to go to Waffle House. And watch you relish in it.

  8. Wow. That's more fruits and vegetables than I eat in some weeks, I'm ashamed to say. (Gotta get working on that.)

  9. Rubye Jack- Well, there only sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches and pecans in the pancakes. There were awesome, though.

    Ellen- Ain't THAT the truth?

Elizabeth- Well, that was a particularly good day around here but not really an unusual one.

Syd- It does take cooking which a lot of people don't do at all any more.

    Denise- Mine too. Obviously.

OmGrrrl- I can't even remember the last time I went to the Waffle House but I do love it. You're right.

    A- EXACTLY!

Elisabeth- I love to eat. I just do. Thank goodness I love to cook too.

Mary LA- Well, only the beans came out of my garden yesterday. More will be available soon!

Solitary Diner- Welcome to Blessourhearts and please come back often!

  10. Wow. I need to hang out at your house for awhile. I don't like vegetables, and I only like fruit a little better. The only thing keeping me alive is that I get a lot of tomato sauce in pizza and pasta.
