Saw this this morning while teaching. We played a song, as not all my students knew him.
My Czech student offered to put one on from his phone, so I let him, only to hear the golden tones of The Walrus of Love, Barry White instead. It was a strangely hilarious moment.
I'm so glad for him, that he had the success and acclaim that he deserved, and a long life to enjoy it.
I thought of you immediately when I heard the news today, Mary. I'm just over here listening to my albums & looking at youtubes, doin' a lil day drinking...here's a fave of mine...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWLAAzOBoBI...I can picture so perfectly in my mind your babies & your man & you in that red dress on the second row swaying & shimmying to the greatness that was Riley B King...just not ready to let him go.
