Friday Scattershot

Are the Jenners and the Kardashians related? See, I really don't know. What I do know is that both of the female branches of those (that?) family seem to spend their time doing photo shoots in bikinis. What's up with that?
"Bikini Bod" seems to have replaced "Baby Bump" as the media's favorite alliterative B word phrase.
Well, I shall never again have either.
I mean, I have a bod and if you put a bikini on it, it would technically be a bikini bod but not one that anyone would want to photo shoot.

So. I've finally caved and am listening to Game of Thrones on audio book. Child! I am impressed. I am loving this book. And I am hooked. George R.R. Martin is a master at creating an entire universe of distinct and defined characters and weaving story lines together. He is a story-teller! The narrator of the edition I'm listening to (Roy Dotrice) is amazing. As I walk and work in the yard or the garden, my head is full of knights and ladies and dire wolves and treachery and love and...
Well. I'm enjoying it all tremendously.

So it's Friday. I am going to town today to run errands and have lunch with at least Hank and maybe Lily and the boys. Not sure about that. Tomorrow the grands are coming over in the late morning and will be spending the day and the night. Sunday is Lily and Jason's 6th anniversary as well as Jessie and Vergil's 1st. Can you believe they've been married for a year? And that Lily and Jason have been married for six?
Lord.
This time last year we were all up in North Carolina, preparing and partying. Doesn't even seem possible. What a glorious time that was! As was Lily's wedding.

Time flies, babies grow up, get married, sometimes have babies of their own. Spring is an especially fine and appropriate time to be thinking of all of this. Boppy and I will have a good time with those boys. Owen told me that he's going to bring his sleeping bag and sleep on the floor beside the bed. I said, "Well, then Gibson can sleep in the bed with me."
"No," he said. "That's my place."
We shall see how it all works out. Whatever happens, I'm pretty sure there will be pancakes on Sunday morning.

This is my life.
I am glad for it.

Happy Friday, y'all.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. A good book is a gift - a damn gift. I totally understand what you mean about a good book. And that is kind of what it is like finding a good blog like yours.

Another sleepover. And pancakes. Sounds amazing.

  2. Game of Thrones? all I can say is don't get too heavily invested in any one character. other than that, I wish he would finish the damn story!

  3. We have the DVDs but I haven't watched them, nor have I read the books. Book club is ruining me.
It's hard to believe it's been a year.
The Kardashian/Jenner clan are a bunch of no talent, self-promoting whackadoodles and you can quote me on that!

  5. I am addicted to the show, anyway. Daenerys is my favorite. However she spells her name.

  6. Jill- You made me feel very loved. Thank you.

Ellen Abbott- Oh god. I am already aware that anyone and everyone could very well die. Could this story ever truly end?

heartinhand- Well one of them, at least, has a huge ass which she is quite proud of.

    SJ- I know you do!
Which is wonderful and amazing and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Ms. Vesuvius- Oh god. I love her! And I have sort of a big crush on her savage husband with his oiled braid. He's a rock star.
