Chuck.

Chuck Berry has died.
So many of you probably have no idea what that means to a whole lot of us.
I can't seem to stop crying.

Nadine. Baby is that you?
God bless you Chuck and your playing and singing and song-writing and duckwalking. You changed every fucking thing.

And it all needed changing so much.

And you never, ever truly got the credit you deserved.
But some of us know.

And we are grieving.

Love...Ms. Moon

  3. His "peeping tom" lawsuits certainly complicate the legacy, but as another blogger succinctly wrote today: "Chuck Berry invented rock n’ roll; what the fuck have you done with your life?
Chuck Berry is dead and there won’t be another one like him, which is exactly the way he’d want it."

  4. He was before my time but I know my mom loved him and he was one of the few that could play the guitar like nobody else. He and Hendrix.

  6. He certainly inspired many other artists. On a related note, how can Keith Richards still be alive?

  8. Discussing this with my guitarist husband, we consider that he was the wrong colour for his time - he was the father of rock n roll but white boys had already usurped it, perhaps and stolen the glory.

  9. His influence was so outrageous and so all-encompassing. I didn't realize it.
