One Of My Favorite Days Of The Year. Keithmas

I didn't walk too far today but I walked real fast. I need to get into town and buy the groceries that I didn't buy yesterday because I was so spaced out and blah, blah, blah (old) and then the boys are coming home with me after we have a little lunch.
The camellias are blooming like nobody's business and I'm in a pretty good mood although I had a dream which combined several of my least favorite dream-themes, up to and including the Cozumel which has been entirely enclosed in a mall.

BUT. Today is December 18th. Do you know what that means?
He turns 72 today and if that is not a sign of the miraculous properties of good genes and the magic of rock and roll, let me add that it is also his 32nd wedding anniversary to the gorgeous and good Patti Hansen and so throw love in there for good measure and good life and good GOD!

Y'all can laugh all you want but on some of my darkest days I think about Mr. Richards and how he has survived relatively intact and how he just seems to be so happy and is still doing those things that make him happy and he's still completely himself, come truly into himself in this older age as a musician, as a husband, as a father, as a grandfather, as a story-teller, as a writer, as a human being, denying nothing, accepting all.
I think about that, about him, and it gives me a tiny flame to follow, to hold onto in the darkness and as Hank says, he is my spirit totem animal. Y'all can keep your bears and your eagles and your dolphins and your wolves.
I got Keith Richards.

Happy birthday, you gorgeous old man, you sweet old grandpa, you bad, bad, baddest boy of rock and roll. Keep rocking. Keep loving. Thanks for being here.
Gold rings on ya.

Love...Ms. Moon
