I don't know if you can tell from the picture but Mr. Moon is about to tuck into some waffles. Yes. There is a waffle iron here on the island. Like so many of the things in this house it was here when we bought the place and I only make waffles here, beating the egg whites by hand and folding them into the batter which today held sweet potatoes and bananas.
Can't beat that.
It is warmer today and the wind has blown itself out and the bay is flat again. I think there will be a walk in my future.
There are ducks out on a sandbar and I can hear a seagull fussing and the osprey is chirping as he flies by. There is a density to the quiet here, a real and palpable weight and the calls of the birds do little to disturb it.

It is another day on Dog Island.
