News You Can't Necessarily Use

Well, my theory that I don't ever really get sick was blown away last night. I felt just horrible. Stomach cramps and body aches and for a little while there I was ready to just end it all. In desperation, I took some Ibuprofen. Who takes Ibuprofen for stomach cramps? I did. It worked. It truly did help but four hours later...ugh.

It took me forever to get to sleep last night. I was so miserable. And I just couldn't/can't get the image of finding my sweet hens dead in the yard out of my mind.
I called my neighbor who lives next door and she called the neighbor who owns the dog and he swore up and down that the dog didn't get out all day but I have a hard time believing that. Suddenly, there's a different dog in my yard killing chickens for gleeful pleasure?
I don't even have the heart to go do a head count in the coop.
I don't want to talk about it any more. Not right now.
Plus, I don't have the energy to walk that far.

Lily texted me at 11:00 this morning to say she seems to have the version of the bug that I have. She didn't really feel that bad but couldn't get too far from the bathroom. How long did this last? She was supposed to go to work at 2:00.

I called her and told her in no uncertain terms that if this is anything like mine it's going to just be getting started by two and she was NOT TO GO TO WORK.
She listened to her mommy.

Speaking of images, from today's Tallahassee Democrat:

Where in hell is Flannery O'Conner when you need her?
SHE FINISHED THE PIE!

My stomach hurts. Maybe I inadvertently ingested a demon.

I'm going back to bed.

Love...Ms. Moon

  2. sorry you don't feel well. children are germ factories and now that you have grandchildren galore you are going to experience more and more of this til their immune systems get established. I had to finally tell my daughter to stop letting the kids come over when they were sick. I was so glad when they got over the coming down with everything part of growing up.

the human brain will see faces in just about anything...cliffs, clouds, rust patterns, food. maybe she should have told the church she had seen Jesus in her pie.

  4. I'm so sorry you're sick, and I'm starting with this post so I'm horrified to hear about the chickens. Shit. I can't believe it.

And I'm pretty sure that's Jim Morrison in the dessert.

  5. God give me patience. Another face of Jesus in food stuff. Once I made a bowl of tomato soup and when I took it out of the microwave it was a perfect happy face. Two eyes, nose and smiling. Maybe it is like Toast Norma from OITNB.
