Oh Lord.

It was another party in Lloyd. Tequila was involved.

And grandsons and cole slaw and okra and tomatoes and chicken and dumplings and banana pudding and guacamole and tears and laughter and hugs and baby kisses and oh hell...everything.

Life.

Yeah. That.

I am so blessed in my loved ones. I am so blessed in family.

Waylon gave me a kiss tonight. He gave me a hug.

I am richer than anyone you know. I have rubies dripping off my fingertips, emeralds, riding on my hair-do, diamonds falling from my hips.
Hell no, it's not perfect.
But my lord. It'll do 'til the real thing comes walking down the street.

Yours truly...Ms. Moon

  3. I love you, as you know. Tequila was involved.

I have a secret. I want to make cocktails. Ones with vodka and gin and juice and spices and stuff. Swizzler sticks, I want those, or those paper umbrellas.

But I have no idea how to start. And would that make me an alcoholic? Wine is good, but in the summer, a fruity drink with ice cubes that kicks your ass is a wonderment.

    Please advise.

  4. Mary,

Sounds like another great gathering. Blessed be! xoxo

    Beth,

There is a new pomegranate flavored Stoli. I would mix it with some sort of berry juice and add a squeeze of citrus (lime, orange, whatever) and some club soda over ice... Or if you like Champagne, Poinsettias are nice. Fill glass with champagne over ice, splash cranberry juice and a bit of triple sec. Add a squeeze of lime... Or Campari and Soda with lemonade or oj. Of course, if you don't like champagne, vodka, berry juice or citrus... then it's back to the drawing board!

    Cheers!

  5. PS You can get lovely fancy glass swivels at your local liquor store along with the umbrellas! How fun! If not, World Market sells them too.

  7. Sweet Jo- Babies are the best.

Birdie- For that sweet moment, it sure was.

Beth Coyote- As you can see, Ms. Fleur has given some suggestions. She used to be a bartender. I think that it's hard to be a nice gin and tonic or vodka and tonic for summertime refreshment. With lime, of course. I also like pineapple juice and vodka. You could get get jiggy and put a spear of fresh pineapple in it.
A delicious pina colada can be made by using coconut-flavored rum with half and half and pineapple juice. Kinda caloric though.

Ms. Fleur- Thanks for the lovely suggestions!

    Bugerlugs- Here we are!

  10. Nice to have a party. And I imagine that hangover from the tequila. It's been a long time since I drank tequila. And I really don't miss it.

  11. Syd- No hangover. I didn't drink THAT much tequila. Just exhaustion.
