Owen

All of a sudden Owen is on his feet for real and going everywhere. He hurls himself across the floor, stumbling and regaining his balance and losing it again and regaining it again. My kitchen floor is so tilty that when he walks across it, he looks at me as if I had either done something to gravity or put something in his bottle and he is not happy about it and he is bewildered.

He has bumps and scrapes everywhere. He is earning his title of BOY. He is running to catch up with the planet as it spins. He is throwing himself into my arms and laughing with the sheer delight of movement and walking upright.
He is throwing himself into my heart.
Over and over and over again.

  4. Oh-Oh... I'm old fashioned. In Europe, that is the exact period they start putting babies in a pen, but according to some of the american moms I meet on base that is considered child abuse in the states.
In Europe it's called common sense, babies are safe, moms can do whatever needs to be done, and then there is the time that mom is done to let the babies roam free... Hmmm, I wonder if that really sounds old fashioned... of so, I don't really care. Grin...
Good for Owen that he is walking already... He will be 18 before he knows it. ;o)))

  6. You have such a way with words Ms. Moon. So many of your posts about Owen I pass along to my mother, which is also the happiest grandmother in the world. She delights in reading the words of a kindred spirit. I never thought you two would have something in common, but in this love of your children you do indeed.

  11. I can't believe it! Clearly, he is advanced for his age.

I wish I could make all floors and ground smooth for Owen for all his life, symbolically and literally.

Thanks for posting this. The pictures make me smile.

  12. Oh, what fun! He reminds me so much of my Henry -- his big, round, boyish face and joy.

The possibilities for blog photos will be endless, right?

  13. Look how his feet and toes meet with the floor. There... balance, focus, stability.
