It's ART, Dammit

To all of you arachnophobes out there, all I can say is- I'm sorry!
But look- I had to do it.
Last night, on Mr. Moon's and my martini tour of the house and grounds (haha!) I discovered where one of my banana spiders had gone. She had gone to die on the breast of the mermaid hanging on that porch. It was so poignant. So startling. So...sad and yet, rather beautiful.
Mr. Moon said, "Well, at least she had something lovely to look at as she died."
There you go.

I will tell you that the one remaining spider on the porch is HUGE! She may become larger than Zeke, my smallest dog, soon. She has a husband and if I were him (he? help me out here, grammar gals and boys), I would be very, very afraid.

So there you have it. And if I get too much hate mail, I'll take the header picture down and substitute it with a LOL cat.
Bet the ranch on that one.
And the check is in the mail.

Love you!
Mean it!
Ms. Moon

  1. Ms. Moon, that is art! Of course I'm the blogger with the header made of arranged dead moth wings, so consider the source!
I think it's lovely that she went there to die. I guess spiders just get the one summer. That's sad right there. Well she is/was lovely, and the picture is wonderful. But I'm glad they don't get that big here!

Um, just... not on me. Not when they can take me on in arm wrestling.

    *shakes head solemnly*

I will ooo and ahhh from back here.

  4. Yes. She looks a little dead.

I really dig that porch mermaid. Mr. Moon can be so romantic. And don't even say, "Yes. Romantic."

  5. Sad that she died. We have so many and they usually die in the fall. I appreciate spiders.

  6. Yes, that spider died happy because she was donating her body to art.

What a sweet note to wake up to, even when your man is hours gone on his hunting for hunting grounds trip. You two are such a lovely couple you crack me up.

Love you, too and You Two! x0 N2

Ms. Trouble- I know. For a man he can be pretty romantic.

Syd- I know. I don't know why this one died. Is there an alpha spider for each porch?

N2- I know. And he even made my coffee. How lucky am I?

Rebecca- Nope. She died before she had babies.

  9. I'm not much afraid of spiders, but it did shock me for a minute when I came here. It IS art though, so lovely. And hey at least it's not a Squash Vine Borer. Ugh. I finished digging out the once I could find today and burying the vines. We'll see what happens.
Love you and mean it too.
