Great Questions Of The Universe Which I Ponder Daily

Can someone explain to me why my dryer even HAS a "Dryness Level"?

Who wants their clothes' level of dryness to be less? Than what? Dry? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of the dryer?

Maybe it would have something to do with ironing in which case it is understandable that I do not know.

  1. I KNOW! I was going to write a post about this. My dryer has 5 dry settings. What the hell does "more dry" mean? And less dry? How do I just get them dry?

  2. we got our dryer used from an appliance place. it leaves things more or less dry, depending on how much stuff was stuffed in the washer prior to the business of drying.

myself, i am looking forward to clothesline time.

  3. It has to do with things that you don't want to shrink from complete drying. After the majority of water is out you hang it dry. Sweet Jo

  4. Many things are WAY more complicated than they need to be. Our washer and dryer has about a million different settings. I have figured out how to use one of them, and I use it for everything. (In fact, we don't even use the dryer because it's so hard on the clothes -- we hang them on a drying rack on the balcony.)

  5. Ditto Sweet Jo. Everybody here in my student residence where I'm staying uses that technique and complain of shrinkage if the dryer dries clothes all the way.

  6. We go with mid level dry and then add more time if needed. Ours has an energy saver too which we use. It is way more complicated than needed.

  7. I tend to find the one setting that looks like ON to me and use it, all the time. When others do laundry and ask about the other settings, I honestly don't know. I do know I've shrunk too many cotton things to count, so I'm going to try to teach this monkey a new trick. :)
