I think he is lovely. Hug him tight and never let him go. My Jesse tried to kill himself last night. Took 50 benadryl. He is in the hospital, alive. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and hold him at this age
Sally- Oh my God. I am so sorry. I hope and pray he'll be okay. And believe me- Owen could not be hugged more. Lily and Jason and I were just talking about that- how not only is he always in the presence of someone he loves, but in the presence of people who adore him and hold him and do his bidding every second of his life.
I don't know why, but this photo made me die laughing. There's something so surreal and goofy and beautiful about it. I love it and I love Owen and those chickens and most of all, you. Cause you make me laugh when I otherwise might just cry.
I knew a photo like this was coming soon! I bet Owen's mommy and daddy get a kick out of seeing his hours of adventures. I call this the Chicken Whisperer.
Elizabeth- Oh! I wish you didn't feel like crying! I'm so sorry but I'm glad this picture made you laugh. It sort of sums my life up, doesn't it?
Michele R- Yep. Almost as good as a nanny-cam, these pictures. Owen loves his chickens. They fascinate him. And he interests them too. They are curious birds.
Dear Ms. Moon, It is a beautiful picture and he is a beautiful boy surrounded by some pretty damn dazzling chickens. I was struck by two things. Miss Sally's note: I hope she knows the circle of love and prayers and white light is larger now and surrounding her, and Jesse, and their whole family. Secondly, Good Dog, Carl. I can just see the chickens in the role of Carl, and Owen carrying that apple everywhere with him. So long and short: in your blog and your circle and your love, there are tragedy and comedy, cast before us as in life. Love to Sally and her family, and as always love to your and yours.
What a crazy day I've had! So nice to come here before turning off the lights and see gorgeous little Owen and your hardworking chickens so fearless of each other. Simply beautiful!
Oh Ms. Moon, my heart opened all the way up when I saw that picture. That is so very beautiful. That one needs to go in a frame, many frames for many walls. But then you knew that.
Too cute! He sure is curious.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a glorious day today. I hope it is like this on Saturday because that is my son's wedding day!
ReplyDeleteHey, Lois, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLook at the chubby shadow of that chubby cheek!
ReplyDeleteAh, still lifes of Ms. Moon's life-amazing.

ReplyDeleteFabulous! Looks like the hens are looking after him! hee hee!
ReplyDeleteA root canal is better than the mall!
ReplyDeleteSally Moon - wish I could hug YOU right now. As for Jesse, just remember that it's NEVER too late...never ever. Love to you all.
Stephanie- Yep. He is curious. He can hardly eat these days for looking around at everything. He doesn't want to miss anything.
ReplyDeleteLois- I'm with DTG- Congratulations! Where is the wedding to be held?
(I promise not to crash it.)
Jo- You're right! I didn't notice that.
Kori- That was one of the most pleasant half-hours of my entire life.
SJ- Well, I'd rather be at the mall than at the hospital or prison but beyond that...
Ms. Fleur- They make great babysitters.
Laynie- Mmmm. Not sure about the root canal thing.

It reminds me oddly of Good Dog Carl.
ReplyDeleteGood Rooster Elvis?
HoneyLuna- Now THERE'S a book.

I've been waiting for this picture. I just knew it would come someday.
ReplyDeleteIt kind of looks like Owen and that chicken are eyeing each other up, trying to figure out who can get to that apple first. :)
we spend our days doing the same thing :) that is so cool.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy day I've had! So nice to come here before turning off the lights and see gorgeous little Owen and your hardworking chickens so fearless of each other. Simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny wonderful picture of the O-boy and the chicken, heads thrust forward at the same angle, eying the same apple in the bright sunlight =o).
ReplyDeleteGold and rose wishes for healing to Sally Moon and her Jesse. Hold on to him, Sally.

HA! I love the chicken audience.
ReplyDeleteAnd, love for Sally Moon.
He's learning so much being around animals: respect for their space, being gentle, social order, etc. There is no better teacher!
ReplyDeleteI love the way his little socks are all loosy goosy (sp?)
ReplyDeleteI remember sliding and shoving and pulling on them over scrumptious toes .
Fabulous imagery.

ReplyDeleteHe's so teeny and cute, I just want to SQUEEZE him and love him and make him my very own bunny.
ReplyDeleteI got that out of my system.
Love you!
Simple happenings...it does beat a mall...anyday!
ReplyDeleteHe's studying them so carefully!
