I washed walls today.
Yes. I. Washed. Walls. Today.
In my old bedroom. I don't think I've ever washed an entire room of walls in my life. This also included cleaning (at least from the front) the louvered doors of the closets.
Every fucking louver.
What I couldn't reach on the step ladder to clean with vinegar and Fabuloso I did the best I could with a mop. Yes. I mopped walls.
So, yeah. That was what I did today.
It's been windy all day long. Great gusts that have brought down branches. Then it started raining about two hours ago. It's a little floody in the yard. I cannot BELIEVE we still have power.
(Knock wood, knock wood, knock wood.)
It did flicker once, twice, and then by holy miracle and Pope decree, it came back on again.
I listened to about twenty minutes of the Orange Intestine's victory speech.
That man is the president of the United States.
I really don't have anything else to say.
Oh wait. I do. And this is the only thing bringing me the slenderest shiver of joy today- the Rolling Stones announced their upcoming No Filters USA Tour 2020. It starts in May in San Diego and ends in July in Atlanta, Georgia.
Bless those old boys.
That's all for tonight.
Love...Ms. Moon
I'm not a fan of louvers for that very reason, cleaning them. Hope you don't lose your power and enjoy your clean walls:)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I walk through that room I am pleased.
DeleteI thought the Stones already had their last tour? and I refused to listen to the SOTU speech and I surely had no desire to hear him gloat today. the man is despicable, a nastier piece of work was never made. I just can't listen to him or read about him or think about what he is doing any longer. it makes me sick to my stomach. he is slime. and the congressional republicans are right there with him.
ReplyDeleteI have never washed walls, spot cleaned, yes. I have however vacuumed walls.
As far as I know, the Stones have never claimed a "last tour." The press may have but not them. I have a feeling it'll only happen when one of them dies or is simply unable, physically, to play. I worry most about Charlie Watts, the drummer, because that is incredibly physically draining.
DeleteYou're exactly correct about DT.
Vacuuming does nothing for mold, unfortunately.
I'd much rather paint than wash them.
ReplyDeleteI SUCK at painting. Seriously- I'm the worst. And don't you have to wash the walls before you paint them? Ugh.
DeleteChanneling my mother, you are. She would have been so fond of you. She was an excellent grandmother, too.
ReplyDeleteDo you paint with a 1" brush? Just asking.
As I said above, I do not paint. My husband is very good at it but he hasn't done any in a long time.
DeleteI only washed these walls due to mold. The rest of the house is even worse in some places but there's a limit...
whatever overcame you, I applaud you for washing walls and louvres. Quite a task. I can't bear to do it here, although I should. Badly. And I'm amazed you made it through 20 minutes of DT. Amazed. I can't *do* one minute, he is revolting. My hat is off to Mitt, though....the only one with integrity. Horrible things were said about him today and this made me sad. Really?
ReplyDeleteSusan M
I have company coming! That's why I washed those walls.
DeleteThe whole Mitt thing sort of disturbs me. A little too little, a little too late in my opinion although the fact that he finally lived up to his oath and his beliefs is admirable.
Let us hope that The Stones don't die of old age before the tour begins. As for the washing of walls, I say - Whatever turns you on baby! Love the word "floody"!
ReplyDeleteWe'll die of old age before they will.
DeleteWell. Maybe. And they're a decade older than we are. I find this to be amazing.
Washing walls certainly doesn't turn me on but having clean walls is quite nice!
Oh, you should go see the Stones! Seize the opportunity! As for washing walls, as much cleaning as I do, I have never done that.
ReplyDeleteI doubt you've ever had mold growing all over your walls either.
DeleteI may go see the Stones. Maybe. Perhaps. I'll have to be heavily medicated.
I hope you go see the Stones...
ReplyDeleteOh, I know I want to!
DeleteI have never washed a wall personally but it happened occasionally when I was a kid. As a result I know this obscure fact: you should wash from the bottom up, because you'll always get drips, and if the dirty drips onto a clean wall you can wipe it off without any problem, but if it drips onto a dirty wall it will leave an indelible streak. And it's true, I saw it.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
DeleteI have always heard to clean from top to bottom. And I didn't use enough liquid to really make drips. I sprayed and then wiped.
