The Weather Is Awful, Be Glad You're Not Here

Dear god it is muggy and hot here today. Mr. Moon got up way early to go sit in a deer stand and came home miserable and empty handed. This weather is supposed to continue for at least another week. The thought of getting out and finishing up the planting leaves me completely unexcited.
But hey! At least Nate is still not forecast to hit here although as I said last night, we will probably get rain.
Which is good.
For us.
Here we go again with the guilt for being glad that a possible disaster is going to affect someone else and not us.
We are human.

If you can't tell what you're looking at there, it's my hand with the main cat bite on it. As you can see, it is showing no signs of infection. I appreciate the concern, though. I really do.

And now I guess I better get to it. Whatever "it" is.
I suppose I should get out there and plant beets and carrots and mustard greens, etc.
Sigh.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. I'm beginning to wonder if it's ever going to really cool down here. It's been unusually hot for this time of year in South Carolina.

I'm glad your hand is okay. My bird Marco gets pissy like that sometimes and will occasionally bite. It makes me furious for a moment!

    1. Pain can very much trigger anger. It's a natural reaction.
And yeah- it's like hell here today.

    1. Well, as I said, this cat bites me approximately every day.
      Sigh.
      But I will.

  4. I worked outside til 2 PM today. hot sweaty work digging up hackberry and pecan treelets, pulling out a weedy grass, still cleaning up after the flood some, hauled a load over to the burn pile. still noticing things like the verbena which did not survive. but it looks like the gerber daisies are going to come back so yay that. I also sustained a few wounds. so much for being one with the earth.

    1. Ellen, I worked outside until 2:00 and then I had to come in and take a long nap. Jesus it's hot here. I got no fresh wounds but I was only planting seeds. The miracle is that I did not get ONE ant bite!
I'm glad your daisies are going to come back.

  5. Well, it looks like you're not on your way to cat-scratch fever, which is a relief. :)
