Haiku My Heart, My Kitchen

In this, my kitchen
No difference seen between
Sacred and mundane

Again, rebecca hosts Haiku My Heart Friday

Which makes me so happy because it's been one hell of a week and for ten minutes, I slowed down and looked through all the marbles in my bag to play this game.

  1. The marbles in your bag are perfect! Sacred and mundane in the kitchen - creation abounds and feeds us well.

Yes - my mother was not a 3rd grade teacher, but first generation American who was determined that all her children would speak "perfect" English, whatever that meant to her. I can still hear her, unbiddened most times, hissing "Sound it out" when I'm writing something and stall, even for a second, on the spelling of the word.

I, indeed, understand the eye rolls when you hear "Soap. Sope. Soap."

    Happy Haiku Fridy!

  4. Delphyne- I will take that spelling bee to my grave. Sigh.

rebecca- To me there is no line between sacred and mundane and even the line between sacred and profane is mighty darn slim at times.

Syd- To me, the salt is more sacred than the cross. So is the egg and the broom and the sweet holy breast.

Ms. Bastard-Beloved- The best thing about Haiku is how short it is, right?

  5. Yes, but that's also why this bitch can't write one. SB has not a measure of brevity. SB must be expansive. It's her damn nature. Laugh.

  7. I fucking love your house and your kitchen. And I am fucking grateful that you stopped by my place to read my Haiku.
And don't you just fucking love Rebecca? She is one of the best!
Oh, and I love the fucking idea that I can come to a blog and say the effenheimer because it's acceptable.
    Fuckin' A.

Sacred and mundane indeed. From the sublime to the ridiculous is but a short leap!

    Peace.

  8. To me the sacred IS the mundane. The gift is seeing it.

I think we're in agreement here.

  9. Sacred exists within the mundane. Expressed perfectly through words and image. Thank you for the reminder.

Deborah- Your Haiku blew me away. Thanks for coming by.

Spadoman- Ha! Charmed, I am fucking sure. Your Haikus were very moving and the pictures said so much too. Come visit again if you feel like it!
