Good morning, good morning, good morning!
I just got back from a lovely, hot, intense walk and I am sweating and red and filled with all those fantastic endorphins or whatever it is that you get when you just about kill yourself in the heat.
The wild grapes are getting bigger and the beauty berry is blooming and so is the clitoria.
Yes. The clitoria.
There will be pictures soon, I am sure.

I threw some bleach in the kiddie pool because our Mr. O is coming today and perhaps we will all get in the pool. Mr. Moon's toe is SO much better. We are rejoicing about that and the fact that we get to play with our boy today.

I asked Kathleen how she slept last night and she said very well but then she proceeded to tell me the story of the baby fruit rat which tried to climb on her foot when she was in the bathroom and how she carefully wrapped it in her shirt, checked it for injury and took it outside to release it.
Oh Kathleen!
I knew there was some critter in the house last night when Pearl began to bay and the other dogs were sniffing along the walls and I TOLD Mr. Moon that but he said that Pearl was just going crazy and he was mighty comfy in his chair. I hate to say this but baby rats rarely show up by themselves. Perhaps Buster ate the rest of them. He has been known to do this.
One can only hope.

And Mr. Moon sprayed the nest of ground wasps in the big potted fern on the front porch so I can water my plants in safety and that's a good thing.

Life in the country. Or...country lite. We do have neighbors and so forth.

And now I have about ten things to do before Owen gets here and here I go to do them. The chickens are scratching about and I feel good and I hope you do too.

Love from Lloyd....Ms. Moon

  2. Oh, I love the beautiful clitoria! They used to grow wild in my yard, their little tendrils reaching up the fence, but haven't seen them in years! Yes, please, a photo, for their name is very apt!

  6. That picture is just plain gorgeous! I am finally getting caught up on my blogs today after my big adventure with my grandson. We had a wonderful time and he was so good on the whole trip. He is already talking about his next vacation with his Granny!

  7. I wouldn't be as horrified by a baby rat as I would a bat...for whatever reasons, bats just terrify me. But Ceara had a pet rat and he was sweet and docile.
Either way, if I find ANY kind of rodent-y creature in this house, there are 4 cats with a lot of explaining to do.
    Enjoy the pool!

  8. Oh, you put me to shame with all that walking in this heat. I was reading about chickens in a Temple Grandin book and thought of you and how lucky your chickens are to have you instead of being commercial layers!
So anyway, I just stopped in to say so and I'm also very glad Mr. Moon's toe is better because I know from experience how hard it can be to heal digits.

  9. Jo- Ha! Are we that alien?

lulumarie- Aren't they just the sweetest?

    Rebecca- Not naughty- glorious!

rebecca- The dog is quite omnivorous and happy to eat anything.

Syd- There was new trash in "my" woods today and I was SO pissed off to see it. Lots. Like I'd need a truck to pick it up. Damn trashy people.

Lois- Oh! I can't wait until Owen is old enough to go off with Grandmother! You inspire me!

Rachel- I need to call 1-800-Rent-A-Cat. Or cougar.

Lopo- And I'm so glad you DID stop by. About the walking? I'm crazy. Period. The end.
