A Long Day, Sweet Rest

But here it is, time to go to bed, and Kathleen is snuggled down in the Panther Room and Mr. Moon's toe is getting better every moment and the dogs are all getting their last bites before bed and deciding in their own dog-ways who gets to sleep with Kathleen whom they adore and the frogs are croaking happily and the chickens are on their roost and Jessie is safe in North Carolina and Owen is coming tomorrow.
The train is coming through right now, roaring from west to east and the signal is dinging and the night time peace is split in half but by the time I've written this sentence, wait....almost...oh, it's a long one...chug, chug, chug...it's gone.
Peace is restored.
Good night, all.
Good night.

  1. Goodnight dear Ms Moon.
I'd like to read you the Good Night Moon book right now.
For some reason "Good Night Brush" always makes me laugh. But I love the little brush set, what do they call those?
I just jumped up from bed to get my laptop because I checked your blog on my phone and read the anger post and then the 4th or July post and thought, I can't let this go until tomorrow, I have to say something to her. I want her to know I'm thinking of her.
    I am.
And I'm so glad Kathleen is with you.
    Love to you all.
    Good Night Moons.

  4. There is something very poetic about this post. Love trains, but am very glad that we don't live near a line, I'm a very light sleeper.

  10. I love the sound of the train in the night. The train bridge is about 7 blocks from me here and I used to hear it every night. I miss it now that we don't have the freight train coming through town. I am hoping it will come back. Thanks for bringing it to me here this morning. woo-o, woooo! N2

  12. MamaShayla- Oh, how I love you and your darlings! Thank-you for stopping by and sending that sweetness.

Rebecca- On the second night here, the train did not wake me up.

A- It was a full day. I didn't even tell all of it!

Danielle- I love the idea of tucking everyone in. I really do.

Michelle- Hot flash free? Might as well wish for world peace. But it was a good night with interesting dreams. There was an apartment in New York, I think...

Lora- Do you like it? I think it might be a bit too formal or something. But it's fun to fool around with it all.

    Ms. Fleur- Thanks, sweetie.

N2- The train is right in my back yard. Right behind the chicken coop. We HAVE to love it.

Syd- Most people do, I think. Every one seems to have a good memory to share of the sound of a train.

  13. I love the sound of a nearby train. I used to live next to a fairly active track.
