What Can You Do?

Woke up this morning with the cold everyone else has already had.

And so it goes.

Cooking is proceeding. Slowly but surely. The giblets are cooking with onions and celery, sage, thyme and a bay leaf. Pie pastry is chilling in the refrigerator. I'm about to go rassle with some greens and I'll start the cornbread for the stuffing here in a little while.

The sun is shining.

It's all okay.

  1. Aaah, the smell of giblets cooking brings back happy memories! We're going to be at someone else's house tomorrow, and I won't get to smell that awesome aroma. But through you today, I'm smelling it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wonderful family, Mary Moon!

  2. we got a good rain last night/this morning. Marc has gone off to the city on a supply run so I have the house to myself for most the day. I guess I'll start chopping stuff for the dressing and cook the bacon.

  3. It's no surprise you have a cold. I'm just catching up and I'm sorry about your chickens. Really sorry. And also concerned about Owen. It will be okay. But it's a lot for your system to handle and I feel bad for you. I wish you didn't have to work so hard now.
