Light. Love.

Owen and I have recently rediscovered a book that he loved when he was tiny.

We read it again today and when we came upon this page

I pointed out the Japanese lanterns and told him how much I loved them.

When we moved into this house, I found and bought a string of Japanese lantern lights and the lights have long since died but I have kept the beautiful paper globes on shelves in my library.

Somehow today, despite my thinking that I knew what he was doing every second, he found those globes which he and I have never once discussed and did this with them:

That first one in the library, the second in the Glen Den.

I might die from the sweetness. He never said a word.

Where did this child come from?

  2. I just love Owen to pieces, he is a marvel. Little kids see so much more than we think they do. I'm glad he put some magic in your day. xo

  4. I love that Owen child and I love Gibson for completely different reasons. Lily and Jason must be amazing parents and look what being surrounded by love does for one's imagination. Sweet Jo

  5. I don't know if I deserve such a sweet boy. Let alone 2! You have certainly done your part to make them that way. I love how much you love them, and how much they love you. Thank you for being such a good mamma and mermer!

  7. If you had said you loved feathers, Owen would have found some beautiful feathers and adorned a space for you. A child's expression of love! Nothing is more presious.

  9. Birdie- He IS an old soul, isn't he? And I swear, Gibson is too. He's just so comfortable in his skin, in this life.

Mel- He really did. True magic.

Ellen Abbott- His parents...well, they're the best of the best. I swear they are.

Elizabeth- That is the joy of being the grandmother. I have the time and space to really notice and then record.

Sweet Jo- They are raising those boys with so much love and the boys get love from their aunties and their uncles and their other grandmother and from me and Mr. Moon. I mean- really? And yes, look at what has happened!

Lily- Those boys aren't sweet because they are made of sugar. They're sweet because you and Jason love them up so sweetly. And of course you deserve them!

Denise- Sometimes even I, his grandmother, am shocked.

    A- I know!

Pamela- Aw. That's good. I think.

Angella- He really does. And I can't even tell you how that feels.

Lora- And then he didn't even tell me. He just did it!

Nancy- It's the truth. He wants me to be happy.

    Sylvia- Thank-you. So much.

  16. Jo- He can be a pretty bossy angelboy. Trust me.

Ms. Fleur- He came from LOVE! Seriously though, he did.
    Good Dog Carl rocks.

Ms. Vesuvius- Lily showed him the pictures on the blog. She said he was very proud.

Madame Rebecca- He does love to decorate. I suppose that is art, if done lovingly, which he does. One day he hung a toy stuffed chameleon from his curly tail on my bedside light. I have left it there. It adds a rather jaunty wildlifey air to the room, I do believe.

Lulumarie- Those books are a joy.

Beth Coyote- I sure never expected that they would end up being used by a grandchild to decorate with- what a lovely surprise!

    Ms. Fleur- You are welcome!
