Why Can't He Just Go Play Golf And Leave Us Alone?

That was on the sidewalk this morning when I walked down to the county line and it was not there when I came back which leads me to believe that it had fallen out of the pocket of a guy riding his bike on the sidewalk the opposite ways I was walking and that he picked it up on his way home. As we crossed paths twice he gave me a huge smile and greeted me cheerfully and honestly, I think my neighbors are mostly happy about the election and as everyone keeps saying, there is a lighter feeling. Yesterday there was so much enthusiastic waving. We old ladies waved at each other until our arm flaps jiggled like a flag trying to fly off its flagpole in a high wind.
Sweet.

But here's the best- the two neighbors of ours that had Trump signs in their yard or at the entrance to their driveway appear to have taken those things down. They are GONE, baby. As I have stated, my next-door neighbors have had a Trump sign up for about five years now. They were early boarders of that terrible train. They did replace their old one for this year's campaign so it wasn't the same sign but it was a Trump sign and you know how much that thing has griped me all this time. I could not believe that those signs were down and I wondered if they'd taken them down themselves or if someone else had relieved them of the chore. I checked out the rear window of my next-door neighbor's car and damn if her "Women for Trump" sticker hadn't been scraped off. So I'm thinking they did it themselves.
Of course, as a friend suggested, they could be just deathly afraid that "Antifa" is going to come and massacre them in their sleep. I feel certain that Fox news is on in their house 24 hours a day and there is no radio host spouting Qanon theories too far right for their sensibilities. So who knows?
But the bottom line is, I don't have to look at those signs any more.
Thank you, Jesus.

And in the spirit of that, I laid down the sign I did not take out yesterday because dammit, it is NOT in someone's yard but right where the Welcome to Jefferson County sign is so that's county property. It's still there, as is the other one I pulled up yesterday, but they are on the ground, flat and unable to offend passersby.

And so I have been feeling mostly cheerful today and went to town to do my shopping early in the week because who the hell knows if we're going to have a hurricane by the weekend? I'd just as soon not get caught up in that sort of preparation frenzy. I'm probably being silly but whatever. Shopping is done. Plus, I got a flu shot at the Publix and so that's done too.

While I was in the car I listened to some of an NPR interview with a NY'er writer who was discussing how many things Trump could be convicted of after he leaves office and no wonder he's doing everything he can to prevent that from happening. He's doing everything he can to throw monkey wrenches into the process of allowing Biden to prepare for the office to which he was elected which only makes him look more desperate, oafish, and criminal. Not to mention low-class.

All right. Not to change the subject but let's change the subject. Here are three pictures that Mr. Moon sent me today from when he was over at Lily's shoveling compost.

That's our Woman Baby, helping with the garden and looking darn good while she's doing it.

Tonight's supper is going to be a bit labor intensive so I better get to it.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. That's a sweet picture of Maggie.

The sooner trump is gone, the better. He is a fucking disgraceful piece of shit. And the people that prop him up, enable him, sickening.

  2. Our neighbors have taken down their signs as well, although they did have a giant, orange inflatable turkey next to their sign that amused me greatly. Hope Eta fizzles out, we’re still getting rain and all the storm drains and canals are overflowing. It’s been such a wet autumn! Magnolia is magnificent!

    1. I hate those giant inflatable holiday decorations. For some reason they just annoy me so much. They seem so very, very American. Although, to be honest, if I saw them in Mexico I'd probably think they were charming.
      Maggie IS magnificent.

    2. And I've given up trying to figure out where Eta's going. Strange storm.

  3. I read an article yesterday that there are about 8 cases ready to be filed (or have already been filed, then put on hold because a sitting President can't be criminally charged). Two are cases that women filed claiming he had sexually assaulted them, and a couple are cases involving his crooked business deals. I get why he's so paranoid. He could easily end up as Bubba's girlfriend!

  4. I made the mistake of reading the news this morning (I've largely been abstaining for the last month) and felt the old dread creeping in. Why do so many Republicans think the election is false? How can so many people be such creeps?

    1. They don't think it's false. They just don't want to lose their weird power. Weird white power. How CAN so many people be creeps? It's way beyond me.

  5. That's a hefty shovel full Maggie is handling!
No to be gloomy, but now I'm thinking of all the things he can doo that McConnel etal can't stop him from doo dooing, like state secrets to tell to his buddies. What a mistake the voters made, and still don't realize.

    1. You are so right about that. We probably can't even imagine the harm that he has done, can do, will doo.

  7. "Women For Trump"? Was that a political sticker or an advertisement for a sexual supply business? Strapline "Grab ‘em by the pussy. You can do anything." I found that quotation amongst Trump's most memorable sayings. Is there any wonder that he likes to compare himself with Abraham Lincoln?

    1. I think their line would be, "Grab ME by the pussy, big boy!" And of course he'd never touch one of them with a ten-foot pole. Not that he has a ten-foot pole...
You bring out the worst in me, Mr. P. I swear you do. It's your super power.

  8. I'm glad your neighbors took down their signs. Even Fox News has been skeptical of Trump's fraud claims. All the states have said there's no evidence of impropriety. Trump is increasingly shouting into the wind, and fewer and fewer people are hearing him.

  13. Maggie is such a solid person, fashionably coordinated as well, and those curls! What a gal she is, so good to see her! I have missed her greatly! Trumpsters are die hard, but they will...die, so there is that. Republicans are such scared little weenies, pinned to the ground by Orange cry baby temper. bunch of cowards.

Trumpers and Trump himself will eventually die. You are right. I just hope I live long enough to see it. Those Republicans don't have a testicle amongst them.

  14. Sweet Maggie working hard! My daughter is a Maggie so I am especially fond of that name.
I banished him yesterday but forgot the proper phrasing:
I HEREBY DECLARE Trump has lost. Be gone! NOW that should do it! :)

      Is your Maggie a Margaret?

    2. Yes my Maggie is a Margaret! Margaret for my sister and Theresa for my Mom. Margaret Theresa! We always said that was her fancy name. She has always been called Maggie (after a Rod Stewart song I liked!!)

  16. that BS that a sitting president cannot be indicted is not a law, it's simply a precedent. seems to me that republicans have done nothing but trash precedent for four years as they are doing right now by refusing to accept that Biden won. the whole GOP is showing the world that they not only don't have any integrity, they don't have any class either.

good Maggie! getting her gardening bug on early.

Maggie's being pretty enthusiastic about this gardening thing. I hope she keeps it up.

    1. You know what I'm ready for? Not having to worry about the government and what it's doing every freaking second of every freaking day. Although I do not generally like the term, "You got this!" I want to be able to say it to Joe and Kamala and go on about my life without having to obsess about each new horror.

  19. The Signs went away here quickly too and I've noticed those I know were in his Camp are quiet about Politics now, which I'm grateful for both the Sign absence and their Silence after Four Years of the Fanaticism. Perhaps less of them than is being covered on TV are really wound up about his loss and most are just moving on with Life? Then he'll just be another Nut on the Internet. Can't wait for his WH Eviction. Cute image of the little one working the Garden.
