The Fullness Thereof

Here are just a few of the chickens. I swear, I was hanging clothes when I saw almost all of them running from one part of the yard to another and I thought, "Oh my god! It's a herd of chickens!"
Actually, a flock. But still, so many.

So yes, I hung clothes, I washed more clothes. I dried some of them in the dryer. The clothes I hung outside are still outside because I went to Publix and Costco and didn't get home until almost six and August was already here and I had to unload all of the groceries and make the supper. Right now there are more clothes in the dryer and another load in the washer and one more load to be done.
Good grief!
But supper is almost ready and here's my two handsome fellas enjoying beverages and watching TV.

I will get August's attention after we have eaten and he's had a bath which he will undoubtably want his grandfather to help him with. At that point he will let me put his pajamas on him and read him some books. I have made up his bed right beside ours and Old Monkey Zippy is already under the cover, waiting to be slept with.

I feel like I've hit the ground running and that's not so bad. I still haven't entirely finished unpacking but my goal for tomorrow is to finally get that done.

It's been another good day. May we all sleep well and peacefully tonight.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. I love how your chickens are many different colors and breeds. I can see you two and August are having fun together.

    1. People ask me what kind of chickens I have. I say, "Mutt chickens." You know I love them.
And we had a lot of fun with that little boy.

  2. A friend of mine has a grandson called August. He was born in New York( where his Dad was working at the time) but been back in UK now for several years. Is August a popular name in USA ? None of us here had heard of it being used as such.
I see your name commenting on most of the blogs that I read, and have finally come back to read you. I think I used to read your blog a few years ago. No idea why I stopped!

    1. Well, welcome back, Francis! It's nice to see you here.
August is not an extremely common name here but it's not completely unheard of. I like it.

  3. I don't think we have that many clothes that it would take me (or him since he does the laundry) 4 or 5 loads of wash, but then a couple of pairs of pants and a couple of shirts of Mr. Moon's clothes probably fill the washer! August looks happy snuggled up next to his Boppy.

    1. You are right about Mr. Moon's clothes taking up a lot of room. Plus I had things like towels here to wash. And rugs. I really don't understand either but I sure am glad that the washing machine wasn't really broken.

  4. The Routine of Life unfolding in it's usual way is always so comforting. I imagine supper was delish, I always wished I had been more of a culinary genius like my Parents and Brother, kinda skipped over me that Gift of the Culinary Arts! Welcome Back!

    1. Thank you, Ms. B!
I am glad that I am a fairly good cook because I sure do like to eat! It's mostly a pleasure for me.

    1. I always threaten to take all of our laundry to someone to do in Cozumel before we leave and never do. But wouldn't that be wonderful? To come home with clean, fresh clothes to just put away?
I remember once when Hank and May were little and we were in Kentucky with my ex and his band who had gigs there. I did take my laundry (including diapers!) to someone to do and I will never forget the luxury of that. Never.

  7. I saw our August today. They call him Augie! He is 4 and a quarter! He was very definite about the quarter!

    1. Sometimes we call our August "Augie" and his North Carolina kin call him "Gus." He answers to all of those names and sometimes calls himself "Little Boppy."

  8. August will absolutely treasure that photo with his grandfather. He looks so safe and happy.
