And, We Are Home

That was taken yesterday morning before we left for the airport.
And then, after a mere 12 hours of flights, customs, "check points," miles of airport walking, horrible airport food except for the lunch we got in the Cozumel airport which looked like this:

and yes, it was delicious, we finally got home around one a.m.
And this is what it looks like in my back yard this morning.

Well, still. It is good to be home and I do believe I have grandchildren on the way over with some of their parents and although Jack and Maurice seem to have escalated their war to a horrible degree and my house rather reeks of cat piss and of course there is everything to be unpacked and days worth of laundry AND the washing machine appears to be, uh, broken, I am glad to be here.

The camellias are blooming their pretty little heads off.
And Maurice slept with us all night long. Thank god she has no idea that I spent two weeks feeding shrimp and pork and chicken to a cat in Mexico. She would literally shred my face into bloody ribbons.

It's like it was all a dream of a dream of being in Cozumel.
But. Here's proof I was there.

That was me on New Year's Eve.

You would not want to see what I look like right now.

Love you all so much. I'll be getting around to blogs eventually and I've mostly kept up reading them.

Thanks for coming along with me to my own paradise.

Ms. Moon

  1. LOVE the pic of you on New Year's Eve! I know it's good to finally get home, but my 'letdown' usually lasts a couple days. Just love on those grandbabies and plan your next Cozumel trip. Welcome Home!!!

    1. I don't feel the letdown so much. I just feel a bit confused about where I am. Loving on the grandbabies was splendid!

  2. You look radiant in that picture, Mary! And it must be good to be home, cat piss and all. I know how dearly you love Cozumel, but there's no place like home...and also, I foresee many, many more trips to Mexico in your future! So there's always going back to look forward to. :)

    Welcome home!

    1. Every time I leave there, I wonder if that was my last trip. I hope this one wasn't. I really do. The cat piss smell has disappeared.

  5. That is a great photo of you. Sorry about the cat piss and the washer but I know your kids, grand babies and chickens will make up for those annoyances. Happy new year.

    1. I believe I am a great deal more cheeky in Cozumel than I ever am at home. I also believe that my husband likes that.

    1. I've just saved you thousands of dollars and tens of thousands of pesos!
An exotic senorita is right. I wish she came home with me. I'm already back in my overalls.
      Sigh...
I have proudly posted my Laughing Horse blog award. Thank you, Mr. P.!

  8. Accompanying you ‘virtually’ on your incredible holiday was an absolute delight, dear Mrs Moon. You have such a gift with words that we all felt as if we were right there, taking in all the sights, sounds, smells, emotions ourselves.
Welcome Home! You looked beautiful on NYE! There is no way you cannot still be looking beautiful less than a week later.
