Friday Report

Today really and truly feels like fall or at least fall as we know it in North Florida. The temperature is lower, the humidity is too and the mosquitoes in the yard are not nearly as fierce although when I stopped in the woods to pee, I was attacked unmercifully.
Lily suggests I just invest in some Depends but let's put that step off until we truly must face it, okay?

I have my doors open and thus, the front porch is again part of the world in which I live, not just a vague concept of a place where I go to water once a week, having sprayed with OFF! before I attempt that small chore.

Such a beautiful space. The Confederate roses right beside it are blooming.

Not a good picture but the light is blasting them right now. I'll get better ones soon.

I am staying at home today if all goes as planned. Owen seems fine but we are still concerned and as always, it would seem that when it rains it pours and other things are going on which are not exactly welcome to deal with but, that's life.
That's life, that's life, that's life and for right now, I am going to hang clothes outside and clean the hen house and just do the little things which bring me comfort and soothe my soul and be grateful for this clear, good day of fall in Lloyd.

    1. I did have a good day. And the mosquitoes are not gone but they are not quite as bad. I still don't want to sit on the porch in the evening hours.

  4. Your porch is lush and lovely, here in the Desert it takes daily chores to keep anything lush alive, but then again, no Mosquitoes. *winks* But I could never just leave the doors open *le sigh* because I'd be mortified of what venomous creatures might wander in and I really don't wanna be sleeping with one eye open. Glad you're participating in what brings you a soothed Soul as the Issues of Life mount up... me too, whenever I can manage it. Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

    1. Well. You live in a rain forest, you get some mosquitoes. I am resigned to that.

  5. I am sitting down to a beer because of a thousand different things but the tipping point was 3 young Mormon men knocking on my door even though there is a sign telling them not to knock. I opened the door and asked them very politely to please never come again and shut the door in their baffled and surprised faces but then I felt sad because they were about my boy's age and they are really just doing what they think they should be doing, like we all are. *sigh* I like to always be kind but I wasn't kind the the Mormon boys. And they were boys.

I hope Owen is okay. xo

    1. OMG! I am reading a thriller/murder mystery by a Mormon woman right now. It is called The Bishop's Wife. It's interesting.
And don't feel bad- the Mormon boys are used to it. As well they should be.

  6. Thinking about that Owen boy whose birth coincides with my discovery of your blog 7 years ago. Love that porch picture!
