So It's Been A Good Day

This is the official Moon Chicken Salad. (Don't tell my husband- I put onions in it which is some sort of Moon Sacrilege.)

NO FRUITCAKE JOKES! I MEAN IT!

Don't they sort of look like titties? Who couldn't use a nice, sweet Christmas titty? (That's not a sacrilege, right?)

Venison, spices, peppers, herbs. Uh-huh.

Tags made and glittered.

Now if I were Martha Stewart, I'd have taped a week's worth of programs, planted a rose garden and thrown a cocktail party, too.

But I'm not Martha. I'm just Ms. Moon. And I'm exhausted.

But pretty happy.

  1. I want a Christmas tittie! I actually LIKE fruitcake, too, at least if it has a lot of rum or bourbon on it. Everything looks beautiful.

  5. Mrs Moon

You are a genius of the kitchen. All that stuff looks GREAT !!

Me and one of my boys are working on some mulled wine today, stuffed cabbage leaves (it sounds bad ...but it's good) and some olde traditional English puddings.

    Merry Christmas Mrs Moon

  13. I'd say you outdid Martha Stewart m'self!! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL from the Yucatan -- where we'll be having ceviche. Not exactly a typical holiday dinner, I know, but eating "local" seems to make the most sense! :)

  14. I'm impressed. Totally impressed. Merry Christmas from our quiet corner of West Virginia. For someone who hates Christmas, you sure rose to the occasion!

  15. I'm not asking for any secret recipes, but I'm interested in the process of making a fruit cake. I know I could look it up, but maybe you have a special take on the whole deal?

p.s. Those "titty" cookies are my absolute favorite. I like when they are frozen and you pop the Kiss off into you mouth and then nosh on the cookie!

  17. Just Me- well, don't forget the Miracle Whip.
    And Merry Christmas to you!

Ample- same to you, honey! I hope your Christmas has lots of joy in it to make all the work worthwhile.

Lady Lemon- yeah. Those cookies are pretty awesome. I used the DARK Hershey's kisses this year which made them even better.

Ms. Bliss- thanks for the cards comment. They were sort of darling, weren't they? I do love glitter and glue.

Ms. Lopo- mmmmm. Cerviche. Yum. Sounds perfect to me. Enjoy!

Ms. Nannygoat- And Merry Christmas to your corner of the world from me. I did sort of rise to the occasion and it was all right.

Ben- You know, I'm actually thinking of writing a memoir/cookbook in 2009. I know, real original idea, right? But the fruitcake recipe would definitely be in it. The recipe I use is a "light" fruit cake and I skip a lot of the candied citrus peel (but not all) and go for more dried fruit like pineapple, apricots, golden raisins, etc. See above about the dark Hershey's kisses.

MOB- How can you not like chicken salad? Man, I love the stuff. Especially the curried kind, which this, being "traditional" is not.

  18. No, Quietgirl- you are the card maker. But I had fun making these. And that's what it's all about, right?
