This has been the most intense illness I've had in years. The stomach part isn't that bad but the aches and pains are insane. Mr. Moon and I can barely pull ourselves from a prone position and when one of us goes to fetch a pillow or something we say, "See you in about half an hour."
You'd think we could just sleep. I mean, we were awake so much last night when we were dealing with the gastric distress that neither one of us got much sleep. I think that the pain has literally been too much to sleep through.
Man. This sucks. I've had fits of inappropriate laughter followed quickly by tears. When my husband laid down in his recliner beside the sofa where I was lying, I couldn't bear the sound. I told him that my head was going to explode. And then I started crying. And then I started laughing. Because it's all so stupid.

But. Tiny increment by tiny increment we are doing a little better. I washed the dishes and Mr. Moon went out and put the chickens up. I am boiling a chicken breast.

And we'd planned to go to Dog Island tomorrow. Second week in a row.
Fuck.

  8. Wow. The SICKNESS has struck, even Florida. So sorry. You will live and just think, you may lose some weight what with all the barfing and such.

You will be OK, laughing and crying and throwing up.

If I were there, I'd roll up my sleeves, put on some gloves and get out the Comet and clean up, the, er, bodily fluids and solids. Shoot, it's what I do all the time.

    It's just neighborly.

  10. turquoise moon- In this case, the puking was a picnic in the park compared to the after-aches. I am not kidding you.

Nicol- I finally did get some sleep. Some. Thanks.

Angella- I feel like a little child. I wanna go to Dog Island!

    Birdie- Thanks.

    Denise- Exactly.

Allison- One pretty much thinks lovingly of eternal rest at such times.

S Jo- I did laugh! Gibson loves that song too. There's something strangely hypnotic about it for babies.

Beth- We kept the body fluids (and solids) contained. That part was not so bad, really. My big plan tomorrow is to wash the sheets. You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to that. Thank you, sweet midwife. I mean it.

Steve- You never, never want this one. I tell you.

Young at Heart- Gettin' better. Thanks.

  11. This god awful flu hit the UK over and before christmas.. many friends didnt celebrate at all, as they were stuck in bed.. I did have it mildly for two days, but it was terrible and so I know how you feel, and hope that soon you will get over it.. hope you have the quicker version than some poor souls who keep it for two weeks** What helped me cope, was the lbs in weight I was losing haha.. all the best and hugs from across the pond.. 13. Terrible! Hate that you both are sick. Maybe it will be over by tomorrow and you can go to Dog Island to recuperate.

  14. I hope you get to go to Dog Island soon. It seems like every time you make the plan to go, something goes wrong.
