Indulge Me

I know, I know. This blog has had some serious Owen picture drought going on. Have you been suffering? You know I have. So, in order to rectify the situation, I offer you these.

Lily, Owen and I met Uncle Hank for lunch at Moe's. Do you have a Moe's where you live? I can't hate the place. They have really spicy salsa. And when you walk in, they say, "Welcome to Moe's!" They being all the line cooks. Yeah. It's corny. And it cracks me up.

Little man stands and crows. He's been hanging with the roosters too much, obviously.

I have no idea what was so curious, but please- that face? Stop me before I eat it.

Uncle Hank, may I please have your nose ring?

My boys. My precious boys.

After lunch it was on to the mall where we got pictures with the Easter Bunny. We met up with our friends Billy and Shayla and their son Waylon and Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw AND Billy's sister Kelli and her children Adda and Eli. It was an Easter Bunny Picture Taking Fest!

Lord. They look like poster children for the Aryan Nation. We are some white white people. Please do not judge us for that. We were born this way.

Hey man! I love you!
Hey man! I love you, too!

Hey pretty girl. I must touch your soft cheek.

It was only yesterday that I took that girl to get her picture made with the Easter Bunny. I am not kidding you.
Wow.
Don't look away, folks. Kids grow up faster than you can believe.
And then they fulfill their purpose on this earth and GIVE YOU GRANDCHILDREN!

It's a good thing and makes it all so worthwhile you have to catch your breath, you have to wipe your eyes, you can't believe your fortune.

It's so fucking corny and it's so incredibly true.

  4. O, Spring, welcome to you and your Easter Bunny and these perfectly beautiful little ones. Thanks for sharing, Ms. Moon. I think we were all feeling the Owen-deprivation shakes starting to set in.

  5. Deb- Yep. Corny is OKAY!

SJ- Me too! My favorites were when my babies wore corduroy overalls.

    HoneyLuna- Couldn't you just die?

Angie C- He'll be here tomorrow at Casa Pollo Luna Loco. Loca? Whatever. He'll be here. So will the chickens. The twain shall meet.

  7. Love these! Your captions crack me up. All your children have such schweetheart faces. And that Owen too. He's getting huge.

I meant to comment on your post about that one person who un-followed -- I bet you have many readers (like me!) who are not on the google follow thing, so we are harder to see, but I show up just about every day and read everything you write. So I hope you will put all of us mostly-lurkers on the other side of the metaphorical scale to balance out turkeys who unsubscribe.

  13. Love the Aryan Nation Bunny.

some old man came up to me a while back and looked at the twins and congratulated me on "doing my duty for the nation". I thought it was hilarious til I realized he meant I'd bred two white kids...oh dear...

  16. DTG- Ain't that boy a hoot? Easter Bunny took everything in stride.

Amna- I follow on my Google Reader so it doesn't show up at all and I have no room to complain.
    And thanks for visiting!

Petit Fleur- Well, come look at me. I'm getting a cold sore.

N2- We have great senses of humor in this family. We crack each other up. Owen is obviously one of us.

Michelle- Really though. Pale-faces. But we dance really good.

    Mwa- I know!

Elizabeth- I think they're too young to give a shit about the giant scary bunny.

    Jill- Glad you like it.

Screamish- Shit. That is so scary. And what I wrote on your blog is just the damn truth.

Denise- Our kids have done us right, haven't they?

  17. Of the 4 little white kids, Owen seems the happiest about the Easter Bunny experience.
My grand-twins are supposed to have breakfast with EB tomorrow. I hope the photo shoot for that goes better than the one with Santa went. (As a result, I have no Christmas 2009 Santa picture of them!)
I would have preferred to have been born with darker skin that doesn't burn as easilly, (several very painful blistering sunburns as a child taught me that) but I know that as a very pale white person, I've been given opportunities and courtesies that I would not have received, had I been born with more melanin (I think that's what it is?) and more natural sun screen.

  18. Lucy- Giant stuffed animals are pretty creepy when you think about it.

  19. Can never have enough Owen and friends pictures! I think the one of him and Waylon reaching out for each other is the best, though. So sweet!

And what is up with your word verifications? This time it's "forkin." Isn't that how babies are made? :P

  22. That Owen is just such a handsome little boy!!! His facial expressions were such a kick too..and the photos with all those lovely kids...Easter treat for all of us! Happy Easter to all of you!

  23. If that is not the lovliest bunch of kids in the Easter Bunny photo, then I don't know what.

And I won't judge you Aryan bunch, because I'm practically a damn albina. For some reason Grandma Peg always said "albina" instead of albino.
