A Saturday Of Work

Mr. Moon and I have spent most of the day over at Mother's old house and it is mostly cleaned out. And I brought home way too much stuff and dammit! I did not want to do that! But what the hell do you do with old pictures?

Anyway, now we're off to Gadsden County to get some chickens. The theory goes that if we get them in the dark on the roost and bring them back here and put them in with our chickens in the dark, all will be well.
We shall see how this goes.

Anyway, Freddy's children's book is coming out and here's a video of the book. Of course he made a video of the book. His girlfriend, Vanessa Vandy did the illustrations. I think it is charming. He wants feedback so...give it to him! Let your kids see it? Tell him what they think? You can comment here and he'll read what you say.
Thank you so much.

More tomorrow, y'all. Hope all is well with you.

  1. Feedback: two thumbs up from this mama of two!

Seriously--great message, lovely illustrations, and best of all excellent talk points for later. Isaiah, Zachary and I often reference the morals and messages of books later and it's a great tool. I can already hear Isaiah now saying things like, "Sometimes all you need is some sun and a friend can be like sun." or Zachy saying, "You have to pick your own friends and not listen to mean people." Congrats to your friends--I read lots of books to my kids and am definitely a "book snob" -- love this, though!

Can't wait to share this with the boys when they return from Camp PaPa--only one week left! Smooches and thanks for this, Sister Moon!

  2. Austin watched it and said "wanna do it again?" Which is definitely a thumbs up from him.

    The illustrations are beautiful.

  3. Aw, love it! Bzzzz to Billy the Bee. I'm all for blooming happily ever after. Yay May. Great job to both author and illustrator, and the voice was perfect. We def need this at the library. Thanks for posting. Was my bedtime story.

  4. gradydoctor- That will make Freddy so happy to read. You can order it from Amazon starting tomorrow, I believe.

Stephanie- Aren't they beautiful? And a very sweet story. I'm glad Austin liked it.

Bethany- GREAT! A professional opinion! It makes a very nice bedtime story, doesn't it?

  5. Beautifully done book. Chickens in the dark sounds like a good title for a comedy movie.

  6. I love this! The illustrations and the voice are lovely. I can't wait to show it to Harley. He's occupied at the moment, but will happily give his feedback. (But I know it will be positive.) I know my boy.

Also the name is fabulous... tee hee!

  7. Syd- It was a sweet comedy.

    Ms. Fleur- I know!

  8. Harley says, and I quote: "Niiiiice!"

  9. Jesus H. Freddie REALLY IS a Renaissance Man.

  10. Ms. Fleur- Excellent!

    Ms. Bastard-Beloved- I'm telling you.

  11. I loved it. It has good messages, it's beautifully done and the illustrations are gorgeous.

I'm off to bed now, catch you tomorrow. Much love xxx

Tell me, sweeties. Tell me what you think.
