It's All Right, Mama

Just a few hours later and see- the darkness has passed. I promise. I knew it would. I'm about to trot off to town to do data entry, go to the library. It'll be warm in those places. I found another egg this morning, I fed Betty grapes. The sheets are in the wash and they will feel so good tonight. Kathleen is coming over this afternoon and I am making eggrolls for dinner.
You see? You see?

Yes. It's cold as hell but the sun is shining so very brightly.

Is it for you?

Oh. I hope so.

And here's a picture from yesterday of Pearl and Dolly just because it's sweet:

  1. Yay! Good morning!

I went to yoga again this week and am quite embarrassed at how easily it has changed my mood. I know you once did yoga, too, and I'm wondering if you still do?

  2. Another day...another feeling. Up and down we go. Have to tell you a baby grandson story since I know you can relate! My one and only is 22 months old. His mama and I walked a block with him to the little neighborhood store, in the rain and darkness. He held both our hands and walked all the way. Suddenly he looks up and says, "Thomas, Mama, Amma walking! No GUYS!" We were of course shocked and awed by his language. My daughter says, "Thomas, are you a guy?" He looks up at us, smiles and says, "Uh HUH. But no other guys!" Brilliant or what? Each day of their lives is completely amazing, inspiring and we know to treasure each pearl on the string because our own grew up and away so fast!! Welcome to grandmama-hood!

  8. I was just htinking that really, egg rolls and clean sheets are as loving a way to take care of yourself as I can imagine right this minute. Truly. and I am happy to read this post, because I love you.

  9. Thought you'd find this interesting: http://jezebel.com/5441520/under-the-duvet-marian-keyes-is-battling-depression

I haven't read her books but I think it's very brave to be so honest about depression - and a celebrity who could hide instead being frank - it makes the rest of us feel not so isolated/crazy. Good for her, good for you!

  10. I adore your way of taking a little thing--clean sheets, and making it joyful.

  11. It's the little things in our life that make it all so worthwhile. The darkness doesn't last and sunshine is just around the corner.
Happy vibes are coming your way!
    Big hugs!

  12. I like the yoga idea. I need to get back to that. I think that's the perfect thing to do in the winter. I'll go if you will!

  13. Marian Keyes is great!

She lives quite near to me.

She talks a lot about her alcohlism too, and is a supporter of Many Worthy Causes.

Lovely warm and funny women. I think she probably feels everything a bit too much.

Not that I'd know anything about THAT.

  14. You look quite capable of evil doings in that picture

  15. The real sun isn't shining, but the one in my heart is, and it feels damn good.

  16. I love you Mama! I wish I was eating on those egg rolls right about now. Yummm.

First day of my semester was good, by the way. I actually went to Monticello with a group of 11 students and Ms. Cuchens, and unfortunately for me, I had to come back into town. It sounds like we're going to be doing some pretty neat stuff for that clinical.

  17. Elisabeth- I drove to yoga this morning and was greeted at the door by my teacher who announced we were not having class today. Sigh. I have a very complex relationship with my yoga teacher. I think I will write about this soon. But I'm so glad you went!

Cinda- I know! That was a sweet story. It's so amazing to realize how much they know that we're not aware of. Yay for grandchildren!

    Swallowtail- Uh-huh!

Lisa- For me it's more like sleep nine hours, be awake for four, want to sleep more. Dang.

Kathleen- No. YOU have beautiful hair.

Michelle- It's the only way I can get Mr. Moon to really enjoy his tofu.

Mwa- No. It's ALWAYS like being on a roller coaster.

Kori- If there is anything more self-nurturing than clean sheets, I don't know what it is. Love you, too, dear.

    Jo- :) to you too!
    And hey! Where's Danielle?

Nola- Very interesting. I should read some of her books. I think celebrities are far crazier than the average citizenship but they don't talk about it until they end up in jail or rehab. Good for her!

Nancy C- When you lead a little life, you do the little things.

    Alice- Thank-you!

Glimmer- Oh. I do go. When my teacher isn't in surgery.

Jo- Feel too much? You? No way.

Daddy X- I use my powers for good, not evil. I posted that picture of Pearl for you, BTW.

Ginger- Well, that's the one that matters.

I had the craziest day ever, topped off by a very random night. It might be email worthy..

  21. I love your self portrait shots. I love the pic of the two doggies. Thank you.
I'm glad you're feeling better too. Or were. I don't have any idea what you're feeling right now.
I am the same same. Rollercoaster around and around.
Trying to motivate myself to exercise now.
I'd rather hang out here with you.
You always make me think and feel and smile.
