Gibson

This conversation occurred around 11:30 last night when Gibson was not falling asleep and citing many, many issues as to the reason including murderers, robbers, and someone who might crash his car through the wall of the bedroom.

Gibson: "Did you know that a car crashed into Gabe's bedroom?"
MerMer: "No. I did not."
G: "Yes. A car crashed through his bedroom and broke his window and his bed."
M: "Gibson. That did not happen."
G: "Well, he did get a new bed."

    2. I think he does. Although there is that kernel of truth in the story.

  3. Oh I do love Gibson! When Erik was wee- when he turned on the dish washer at school ( we do not have one at home) he turned the knob and hightailed it out of there as fast as he could go- yelling " She's gonna BLOW!" Pretty sure that that would happen, peeved the teacher- Montessori humorless strict control freak teacher. Anyway, Erik got reported and warned, but it was very real in his tiny little mind...

    1. Why would anyone get mad about that? Jesus Christ! Aren't those schools supposed to understand children and how they learn?

    1. Possible. Mostly he was just trying to stay up.

  5. It could happen. It has happened. Maybe not to Gabe but it’s not impossible. Gibson heard it somewhere. I heard something on the news when I was 8 about a little boy falling into a curb drain and being swept up a river. I STILL avoid those drains. Gibson is a smart one and thinks of pretty good reasons sleep can’t happen.

    1. Well, it could happen but not really the way the trees are situated in this yard. A car would have a hell of a time even getting TO that bedroom, much less getting up enough speed to crash into a wall.
      Ghosts were also a worry.

  6. It has happened. Our foster son’s grandmother ended up with a car in her living room, and the drunk driver, as he emerged, kept yelling about them building the house in the middle of the road. At the time, it was not funny, but afterward...
