For Nicol

Remember these, sweetie?

  1. You just reminded me yet again why I choose to live in the freezing ass cold of Wisconsin. I will never have to beat an alligator to death with my snow shovel.

  2. So how are the gators enjoying the nice cold weather you guys are getting? I just read Jon's blog and it sounds really chilly. Stay warm.

  3. Oh, yes I remember those! Wakulla is a very cool place.

  4. There are a lot of alligators that hang out near my parents' house on Hilton Head Island. We love to freak out our west coast friends when they come visit by appearing nonchalant about the gators presence.

  5. I remember seeing gator signs in Mexico. I do not remember anything about swimming with them, though. I guess that is why all the resorts had pools!

  6. Gosh, I'm not even on the followers front page anymore and I thought I was new. I love though seeing the list grow and all the new people that get to know you and read you. Lucky them (us).
Sorry, didn't look at link yet, or know what on earth this post is about. Just using it to keep talking to you, so I don't have to exercise.
I made my girlfriend and alligator sticker once because she loved Steve Irwin. No wait, that was a crocodile.
Um, do I HAVE to go?
    How were those egg rolls?
See you tomorrow Ms Moon. Please don't get eaten by alligators.

  8. Never feed alligators? I take it you have stupid people over there, too.

  9. Underwater, they seem to be afraid of you. They sit real still as if you won't see them unless they move. Scary is finding the deer carcass the gator has stuffed under the bank 10 feet deep.

I have to wash my wetsuit often.

  10. Rachel- Nor will I. Believe me.

Mr. Shife- We're bitching about it every second of the day and night.

    Nicol- Exactly!

Elizabeth- They are monstrous-looking beasts, aren't they?

The Dish- Mostly they hang out in the rivers and lakes.

Bethany- The eggrolls were wonderful! No alligators here today. Don't worry.

Maggie- I'm so excited! REAL MAIL! Thank-you. I'll let you know when it comes.

    Mwa- Stupid people are everywhere.

Magnum- One of my favorite Wakulla Springs memories is one of being on the Jungle Boat ride (love the jungle boat ride!) and we went past a bank where many, many gators were feasting on a Bambi. The tourists were horrified and me? I chuckled to myself and thought, "Yeah, baby. This ain't Disney World."

  11. Now, that is scary!! The worst we have here in the Pacific Northwest are bears.

  12. Not too long ago, there was a story on the news about some HUGE alligator/crocodile?? on some vacationing family's doorstep. How's that for a welcome home!! Ha ha ha.......

  13. Lilligirl- The only person to have been gator'et in the last years here was swimming where he was definitely told not to go.

Angie- I'd be more afraid of a bear, quite frankly.

Rebecca- They can show up in odd places. I saw one on a trail in the woods once.

  14. so I'm in Ohio. Its cold here (duh)...but I just saw on the news that Iguanas are freezing and falling out of trees down there...
I don't even have a response to that!!

  15. Just me- Iguanas are certainly not native to North Florida and probably not to South Florida either. I sure would hate to have an iguana fall on my head.
