Being Here Now

There appears to be a gleeful young musician in my hallway this evening.

And a young Rolling Stones fan with a drone in my kitchen. There's also a Wii player in my Glen Den and soon, a Boppy will be here with pizza.
Lily and Jason have a rare night off together and are going on a date to play trivia with Hank!
I asked Maggie if she knew what a date was. She didn't so I told her.
"Mommy and Daddy are going to get all dressed up and go out! And they will kiss, kiss, kiss!"
She liked that idea.

Look what Lily sent over for my belated birthday.

She also sent over a Publix carrot cake which is one of my favorite things on earth.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.

I've been so damn domestic today that it's ridiculous.
I cleaned out my refrigerator and tried to glue some of the plastic bin parts back together because everything made of plastic in that thing is broken or cracked, some to the point where opening a drawer is almost impossible.
But.
It's a little better now.
Thanks, Gorilla Glue!
Actually, I don't think I used Gorilla Glue but some other "maximum adhesive."
Then I peeled and cut up and food-processed a bunch of over-ripe mangoes and now all of that is in the freezer for future use in...something?
I need to learn to make mango daiquiris.
And THEN I ironed.
And so forth.

But now these children are here and Boppy just got home with pizza and I've mediated two arguments and helped Maggie brush her teeth and tried to help with a Wii situation (in vain) and, well, I better go.
You might want to light a candle for me.
Thanks.

Love...Ms. Moon

Nice that there is a date night for Lily and Jason thanks to you! Sounds like mango pancakes might be in order sometime soon? I cleaned out fridge today too......but no glue needed here....just lots of sighs and some gasps LOL

  2. I tried to be domestic today but I am just tired. I did do a few puttering type things but right now I am just waifing for bed. It’s 4:38.

    1. Some days I'm just waiting for bed from the moment I get out of it. I only make it so that it will be more comfy when it's finally time to get back into it.

  3. Mary, I had a dream about you last night. You came to my house for a visit and wanted a bath. For some reason, my house had dozens of bathtubs and I was showing you all the different ones you could choose from. And my mom was alive and there too. You finally chose the one that looks just like the one you have at your house.

    Dreams are weird.

    1. You know me too well. I do love the familiar! Dreams are just so strange, aren't they? Anyway, glad I could visit you.

  4. Good gracious! Has Birdie been drinking some of your mango thingies? My day was stupendous. Had a three hour lunch with a very old friend and we laughed and laughed. Then I sold one of my bass guitars for $200. Think I will go have a pedicure tomorrow!

  5. Mangoritas are divine. Give that a shot, so to speak. I think you may need several tonight.

    1. I did have the most glorious mango margarita in Cozumel last time we were there. It was huge and made of fresh mangos and I loved it. That and a cup of street corn (elotes) was supper. It was delicious!

  6. my grandkids fought like cats and dogs up until they were teenagers. when they all came to stay the rule was 'you are all best friends' because granny ain't putting up with that shit. sometimes they were good sometimes a little less than good. I'm with Wilma, mango margaritas, not that I've ever had one but I would like to have one.

    1. Yeah. I need to tell Owen and Gibson that MerMer ain't putting up with that shit. It's so annoying! They're like tussling puppies.
See above about my experience with a celestial mango margarita.
