A gorgeous essay is up on the New York Times website, written by Betsy MacWhinney who writes one of my most favorite blogs ever here.
The essay, entitled "Bringing A Daughter Back From The Brink With Poems," can (and should be) read here.
Thank you, Betsy.
Once again I am reminded how much richer my own life is through the community I have found in this ethereal and so very real world of ours.
I have a niece who is like Betsy's daughter. My brother has been so troubled as to how to bring her out of it. I will share this article with him in hopes it will help somehow. Being a teenager is hard. Growing one is even harder. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBreathtakingly beautiful, indeed... thanks so much for sharing. And now I have a new blog to read!
ReplyDeleteDear Ms. Moon,
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful time watching Owen today!

thank you dear Mary
ReplyDeleteFantastic.
ReplyDeleteIt's a helpful and hopeful article that could help so many, if it could only reach them. I don't have a blog to spread the word, but I'm so happy to see you doing that, Ms Moon.
ReplyDeleteI am sending the link to everyone I know now that I have dried my eyes. When I am up in the wee hours having that debate with myself I know I will turn to this article, these poems.
ReplyDeleteThank you Betsy, so much, and thank you Mary for telling us about it.
