Walking

I did take a walk and remarkably, by the time I got a half mile down the road the sun had come out and it ended up being a very fine hour and I stopped to take a picture of the blooming oxalis

and on my way home I stopped and picked some camellias in the boarded-up house's yard. I brought them home and put them in the old silver-plated coffee pot I got at a thrift store.

A walk is almost always a good idea, I think. I read a little Facebook thing last night that Michael Moore posted about walking a half hour a day. I think it's worth reading and if you feel so inclined, go here.
There's more to the piece than just the walk (it is Michael Moore, after all) and there's some good stuff to ponder.

I might actually keep track of my miles this year for no other reason than it always feels good to see some sort of real record. It's a human thing. I feel certain that antelopes and cheetahs and chickens and dogs don't keep track of their milage.
But I am a human and thus prone to silliness and ritual.

Well. That's all. If I was to write a New Year's post, I guess that was it.

You're welcome.
