There are two bedrooms in this darling little cottage. One has a queen-sized bed, one has two twins. Because of covid and because of size issues, I am sleeping in the room with the twin beds and I feel so cozy there in my little child-sized bed whether for a nap or a nighttime sleep. I have a fine bedside table with a lamp and my fan and my magazines and book. I have a view out to the plants and flowers.
I am happy there.
And Mr. Moon is mere feet away. If I snore as loudly as I think I do, he may still hear me.
I have felt even better today. I still don't have a great deal of energy but I am a bit more functional and did a load of clothes and folded and put them away and ran and unloaded the dishwasher. I know that going out for a tiny walk would probably be good for me but I don't seem to have that much energy and also, it is hot as hades outside and every time I go outside I feel like I'm having the mother of all hot flashes and it is not enjoyable so...no walking now except from the house to the pool which is about five steps.
Glen still seems fine. He hasn't tested today but hasn't felt the need to either. This is nothing short of a miracle in my opinion. And I'm not doing a good job of quarantining. I'm not wearing a mask but I'm not kissing him on the face or lips and we're not eating or drinking after each other and so...
Well.
He's being so sweet to me. My MacBook charger cord has needed replacing for awhile and yesterday it just quit working. He went to Sebastian and bought me a new one along with two more covid tests, a thermometer, and some cough syrup in case I develop that symptom but thank all the powers that be, that has not happened so far.
Knock wood.
As of this morning Lon and Lis were testing negative and none of my babies with whom I went to Monticello last Saturday were showing symptoms so again, knock wood.
It is impossible not be cheered in this house. Oh, but that man and I do share a sense of aesthetics.
And so that's what I've been seeing today. We spent some time in the pool both last night and this afternoon. Another mango was cut and eaten. And last night's supper from the Thai restaurant was nothing short of perfection. The Tom Kha Kai soup was so good that I seriously do not believe I've ever eaten anything more delicious. It'll be take-out pizza tonight. Mr. Moon is down at the dock fishing and I can't believe I'm missing another sunset but the heat is too much.
I LOVE those bathroom tiles and that kitchen cabinet above the microwave.
ReplyDeleteYour "landlord" is so put together, and if he's doing the restoration work, a great craftsman. The line of grout along the bath tub is immaculate. Unlike the last line of grout I laid down.
ReplyDeleteWell, this sounds better, more cheerful, happy in your cottage, lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful place to spend your sick time in....so sorry you caught that damn Covid, though. The pool and area are dreamy. It's been God awful hot.....and humid...in NE Ohio, too. It was 91 on the patio in the shade today and that's hot here. Enough of this crap. Enjoy your 'down time' and heal quickly. That home and surroundings should be just what the doctor ordered. Are you able to show a picture of the exterior (front)? Keep us posted! Continue to feel better?

A great hoiiday ,even tho....So good that covid did not slap you silly, With covid and the heat I do not know how it is that you are still breathing! What a gal!!! The growing things certainly are impressive!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know that at least it's not too heavy but still, it sucks. You are hopefully out of it in a few days.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you’re not letting Covid destroy your vacation. I love that bathroom tile. And nice wood to knock on. Hope the energy returns quickly.
ReplyDeleteWell, it sounds like you've got a mild case, thank goodness. I'm glad you're able to enjoy your amazing surroundings and I know getting some laundry done makes you happy. (It would me too.)
ReplyDeleteglad you are feeling better and is has been mild. it is so hot here too but now that I'm no longer under forced rest I have to get out there and make small attempts at removing debris. I love everything you have shown us about that little house except that tile in the bathroom. ugh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to stay! I love all of those little touches! Glad you are relaxing and not feeling too bad. Glad you can take it easy - that's what vacations are for! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better today. Your retro with modern touches vacation home seems perfect. The garden and pool sounds exotic. Glenn offering you some plant seedlings is very generous and will add nicely to your garden at home. I also like Glenn's aesthetic. The dockside sunset is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSorry you have The Rona, but my isn't that Cottage and it's Retro Decor uplifting and joyful. Healing Energies to you.
ReplyDeleteAesthetically the little house at Roseland seems so "you"! It would not have surprised me if you had said that you designed it. I love the little shelf in the shower wall. To seem more sophisticated, your Glen could add an extra "n" to his name too!
ReplyDeleteThat Covid. I keep hoping it will go away. I have been vaccinated 5 times and had Covid 3. Every time I get vaccinated I end up with inflammation for months. I don't know what to do anymore. Anyway, the Olympics are on so at least there is something fun to watch. And extra bonus that you have a Mr. Moon to take care of you. That cottage is like a dream! Those tiles are perfection. That light deserves a prize for best light fixture ever. I hope you feel better soon. xo
ReplyDeleteI’m in love with the pink cabinet and the flamingo picture next to it! Hope you’re feeling better every day.
ReplyDeleteXoxo
Barbara
I love that hibiscus and the color ... OMG! BEEutiful!
ReplyDeleteThe cottage looks like fun for a short visit but I wouldn't want to live in it!
Hope you are feeling a lot better today!
I cannot think of a more fabulous place to rest and recuperate. That cottage is just adorable - every inch!!!! Glad to hear everyone else is doing well. Take care.
