The phone rang at midnight. Never good. Mother had fallen. Discussion with the nurse as to what to do. Nothing seemed broken or dislocated. They would monitor her through the night.
7 a.m. and the phone rang again. Lots of pain. So. Off to the hospital to see what is what. They have her comfortable. They've done X Rays. Talking about CT scans. We're all thinking she may have a broken rib.
For an emergency department, it's pretty quiet around here. I can hear what may be the heating system chugging away in the walls.
Or it may be the breathing of the building.
Here we are. Breathing too.
broken ribs really hurt- i hope your mom only bruised hers-

Oh Mary, when it rains it pours.
ReplyDeleteHope you and your mother are both doing okay.
I'm sending love and fortitude your way!
Yeah broken ribs are a bitch but I can't. Imagine anyone better than you to have around in an emergency

You and your mom are going along a path that we just had--many hours in the ER. Not fun. Hope that your mother will be okay.
