Athletic Events And Other Things

This is a rather horrible shot of Levon participating in the arugula-hurtling event today in Lloyd. The little guys are here with their parents and they will all be spending the night. The men are processing meat and yes, I will be glad when hunting season is over although:

1. It does give the Weatherfords a good reason to come over, and
2. I'm pretty sure that most of the hunting is over, in all actuality. I believe that we have plenty of protein now.

So this is going to be short as there is supper to make and a table to clear of flannel and various other fabrics which have been ordered, unwrapped, admired and left to gather dust. I actually made spaghetti sauce hours ago with venison, onions, peppers, tomatoes, chopped butternut squash, grated zucchini, and mushrooms. And a nice jar of Publix Greenwise Tomato Basil pasta sauce.
The boys probably won't like it but we will. They will, however, like the sourdough bread that is just about to go into the oven. I let it rise all night and when I went to punch it down this morning, this is what I found:

The wild yeast of Lloyd continues to have magically strong rising powers.

And there you have it and here we are. Two little boys running around my house sounding like a herd of wild somethings and trying to convince Boppy to let them watch TV by saying that he can just take a little nap while they all watch (which he will) and all is well.

I hope for you too.

Love...Ms. Moon

  2. If we could see farts that is likely how they would look. Nothing amiss regarding your energy level! I did so much of nothing today I am spent!

    1. I know, right?! Or a burb. Some sort of gaseous emittance.
Seems like sometimes the less we do, the tireder we are at the end of the day.

  3. Whatever that is swelling out of the dough, it seems quite rude.

    1. Well, as I said to August when he informed me today that he is a burper and a tooter, "Better out than in!"

    1. I hear that kale-hurtling is more trendy but we're traditionalists here.

  6. ooo, gassy. I bought some chicken salad at the store for lunch so as not to have to need bread and it gave me the worst gas. I farted all afternoon. no herd of anything here anymore, grandkids all grown and living their adult lives.

    1. What in chicken salad could give you gas? Weird.
Isn't it amazing how two little boys can sound like a herd of wild animals?

  7. You are the busiest woman! My life is so quiet (and boring) compared to yours. I get tired just reading about all of the cooking and baking and playing you get to do each day. You can tell I sound a little bit jealous but just a little bit - I have gotten pretty used to relaxing!

    1. It's okay to be jealous. I know I'm so very lucky. And thankfully, I also get a lot of relaxing time to be honest. Or at least I TAKE time to relax. I could be doing something constructive, always. But- hey.
