Dating During The Time Of Covid

Maggie woke up to this gorgeous balloon banner today that her mama stayed up late to make. Lily is such a sweet mother. And then our Woman Child got to stay home from school and do fun things with that sweet mother.

They went to the Cat Cafe for hot chocolate and cuddles.

As the kids say these days, "I can't even." Look at that little lady.

If they had gotten a kitten, this one would have been it. Maggie deemed it "comfortable."

Lily said that while she was holding this little cat her heart rate, according to her smart watch, went down to 52 bpm. Why don't doctor's offices have kittens and puppies you can cuddle while you're getting your blood pressure taken?
The ladies also had their toes done and Lily reported that Maggie was so sweet all day long. I know she was.
And pretty soon we'll be leaving for supper with all of them to continue the celebration.

Mr. Moon and I had a different sort of day. He's going to Louisiana on Sunday to hunt and he has a little cough and sinus thing going on so he wanted to get covid tested and it just so happens that there's free testing at the library in Monticello where I was going anyway to pick up my package. Plus- Mr. Moon could finally meet Terez!
So off we went to the capitol city of Jefferson County, the ONLY city in Jefferson County, and we stopped at the post office first. When I started trying to explain the situation to a guy at a window, the woman next to him said, "Oh, yeah. That package is right over there." She pointed, the guy retrieved it for me, and off I went with my dresses.
Next stop, the library where we had to do a check-in to fill in forms via our phones, then to another stop where we were okayed, then to the stop where they swabbed us.
Results to be texted and e-mailed quickly.
I had been texting Terez, whom some of you may remember from earlier posts about going to toddler time at the library there which is where we met Terez who is a librarian and a darling man.
A darling very tall man.
So I've been wanting the two tall men to meet and they did!

Two very tall beautiful men, even though it's hard to tell with the masks on. Trust me. It was so good to see Terez and catch up a little.

Then the man and I decided that we might as well make a date of it so we went to Wag the Dog where we got our tests results, again via our phones and we were both negative. Hurray!
We went into a little antique shop across the street from Wag and I found lots of things I want but nothing I had to have so we went to lunch at the Rev where we ate outside. Our food was good but we had to wait forever. It was sort of ridiculous.
But it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the view of the courthouse and the traffic so it was all okay.

When we got home, this is what I did.

I am so very happy to have my beautiful big refrigerator back in use again.

And now I need to go get ready for the Mexican restaurant meet-up. Eating out twice in one day! I can't believe it.

I'll sign off here but perhaps I'll do a little lagniappe post when we get home if there are any adorable pictures or something. Oh! Of the two dresses, one (the purple corduroy) is doable. It has pockets. It must not be great because I'm wearing it and Mr. Moon didn't say a word.
Sigh.
I'm wearing make-up too and he didn't mention that either so...
Sigh again.
The other dress just does not please me. Also- no pockets. How did I manage to buy a dress with no pockets? So it's going back unless Jessie wants it. It would probably look beautiful on her.

Happy Friday, y'all.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. Won the Two Talls met and you were united with the dresses. Sounds like one out of two dresses ain't bad. Can you apply pockets?

    1. Nah. It's made of a sort of sheerish rayon. It came with a slip but pockets just aren't going to work, I'm afraid.

    1. Nah. I wore the purple dress last night. If nothing else it is soft as velvet.

And you are too, even if there were no compliments in your corner.

  7. A shame about the pocketless dress. Do you always have to go out somewhere to get a covid test? We have lateral flow tests that we can use at home...result in 30 mins. It has however been difficult to get them recently. Luckily we don't need to do one very often. We only did one yesterday because we are driving our son and girlfriend back to Oxford this morning after their visit to Slovenia ( her parents) They arrived here last night at 12.25am! Via train from Gatwick airport.

    1. We can buy home tests here but they are hard to come by and they are all of the non-lateral flow test. We could have gotten one of those yesterday but it takes, for whatever mysterious reason, more than thirty minutes to get results. Only one test per day at that site.
12:25 am! Oh my goodness. I hope you didn't have to meet the train.

    2. Yes, my husband went and met them at the station. I stayed up to greet them when they got here. Not as bad as the night we had to look after the big grands while the baby was having checks at hospital. We got home at 5am!! The journey to Oxford yesterday morning was more like a boat trip as there was so much rain all the way and the roads were full of puddles!

  8. Well, I'm glad at least one of the dresses worked. I had no idea Terez was so tall! I'm glad Maggie had a good birthday. She looks so happy at the Cat Cafe.

    1. Terez is very, very tall as you can see. That's why when I first saw him at Toddler Time holding the little bubble machine high into the air I sort of just fell in love. He's so sweet.
      Maggie had a GREAT birthday!

  9. Happy birthday Maggie. And you're right about kittens (and puppies) - I think the companionship is worth a year of medication. At the home where my mom lived at the end they used to bring older labradors in for the residents to stroke if they wanted to. What a great way to provide companionship. And I'm glad you got your dresses - you need to get some new glasses for Mr. Moon if he didn't compliment you!

    1. I've seen elder homes that bring in cats and dogs and even...chickens! And the residents do seem to respond so well to them.
Poor Mr. Moon. He never knows quite what to say, I think, about how I look.

    1. I sure hope that she does because her mama and daddy tried so hard to make it a very special day.

  12. I think it must be a conspiracy between women's clothing designers and the purse industry. No mention of the make up just means he finds you beautiful with or without.

  13. Mr Moon not mentioning the dress or makeup only means he sees you as his love always and whatever you're wearing is fine with him. Plus he was a bit under the weather perhaps and was at the tail end of a long full day. I wouldn't put it down to the dress. Besides, it has pockets! Mongolia June is a delight.

    1. Oh, I'm going to love the dress no matter what due to the comfort factor. Also, it's a glorious shade of purple.
Isn't Maggie just a darling little queen?

  14. That Hot Chocolate pose is so grown up! I'm sure she felt like Queen for a Day... and Princess for a Lifetime. It's fantastic that she and Mama have such quality time together to forge Memories.

  15. I am a little late in saying it, but you did a great job on Maggie's nightgown! She seems to really love it! She also looks like she had a lovely birthday day with her mother.
