Old Frederick Calls

Working with Old Frederick Rabbath (and he had a birthday yesterday and turned 24 so I'm going to start calling him "Old Frederick") is a tricky thing. You never quite know when it's going to happen.
A few weeks ago he invited a group of people to show up this weekend to film on something he's been working on for quite awhile and I'd heard nothing since about that. This morning I got a Facebook message from him saying that rehearsal is at his house at ten this morning.
Hell. It's nine now and I'm barely up. His house is about nine thousand miles from mine.
Well, in the relative scheme of how things work in Tallahassee.
Mmmmm....
Mr. Moon is still out in the woods and it's Saturday morning and I haven't fed the chickens, my hair is filthy, I'm too fat to fit into any of my winter clothes and I haven't eaten anything.
And yet.
I am about to spring into action and get my ass over to Chez Old Fred and see what's up because I tell you something- I have the most fun with that crazy guy and his crazy actors. And if he gives me the least inclination that he can use me (I wonder whose mother I'll play this time) I'm THERE, baby.
It's just so different to be in a situation where I am not needed to tend or cook or clean or nurture or well, any of the things I usually do during my days. I love doing those things and they are the basis and the meaning of my life but...
Every now and then getting the chance to be someone else, even if it IS someone's crazy mother or crazy wife is just like playing in the woods when I was a kid. You never now where things might lead as the story unfolds or when you might find that wild mango tree in the middle of the jungle.
So. Here I go.
Happy Saturday, y'all.
Love...Ms. Moon

  3. Can't wait to hear what this film will be about! And isn't refreshing to have something so different from your 'normal life' to run to? That is fun, unpredictable and there is nothing illegal about it? hehehehe! Now you get yourself out the door and have a good time!

Sometime you will have to tell us how he puts together his films..all the actors, locations, and such...

  4. I would like to pass along to Old Fred that Ms. Moon's public would enjoy seeing her as a romantic lead.

  5. I second Lisa. Do you think Mr. Moon would be willing to play the other side? Wouldn't that be fun?

    Have a blast, Ms. M.

  6. Dear Ms Moon,

Hear this: please go somewhere and buy some nice jeans and shirts and skirts and maybe a bra that fits well and comfortably (GET SOMEONE TO MEASURE YOU DON'T ARGUE). They don't have to be fancy nor expensive, but they should fit.

Feel pretty. Go to bed at night without red marks all over your body from tight waistbands and so on.

Doesn't mean you're giving up or in. Just means you're working on feeling good about yourself. It's hard to lose weight when you're beating up on yourself for it.

    Yours sincerely,

    your own fine ass.

  7. deb- Excellent!

Elizabeth- I'm still not sure who I'm going to be. But that's Freddie and I am not worried about it. As long as I'm somebody, it'll be okay.

Ellen- You've inspired me to see if Old Frederick would allow me to do an interview with him. I think that would be awesome!

Lisa- I have passed this information on to FC. He will probably laugh his ass off.

Kathleen Scott- No. Mr. Moon would NEVER agree to such foolishness. I think.

Jo- Girl! I would never wear anything that left red marks on my body. I assure you of that. And you can also trust me when I say that anything that resembles a bra in any size, shape or form is not something I feel comfortable in. I JUST DO NOT LIKE GARMENTS WHICH CAPTURE MY BOSOMS!
You're so sweet, though, to give me this good advice.

  8. I love your irrepressable spirit. You do so much for so many, even when you don't feel so great.

  9. Syd- Nah. Only for those I love. Which means I am very selfish.

Tell me, sweeties. Tell me what you think.
