Scenes From A Day

That building was where the Garden Club met. And where people voted. And where the library was.

It is a place which is one of the cornerstones of my life. I am not even kidding you. And that road? That's where we played marbles.

Sunset.

We're eating mullet for supper.

Egrets (I think) on their way home for the night.

Sand hill cranes, digging in the soft river-bank. For what? Crabs? I do not know. But they were busy and unconcerned with our presence. Mr. Moon took that picture.

Vultures in a dead tree within a stone's throw of the Walgreens, Publix and Highway 1.

That's the way it is down here.

And so is this:

And this:

And here I am in it:

See the train trestle behind me? And the pelicans?
Okay.

Time to fry the mullet.

Man, it is so good.

  2. Wow, I love that photo too of the mister with the net, super cool. Amazing that there are still places you can just catch your food and eat it.

    You look gorgeous as usual.

I don't know what mullet is, but you make it sound so good.

    Enjoy!

  3. Is there anything Mr. Moon isn't good at?

I like the house in the photo with the SADLER sign in it.

Thank you for this little tour of Roseland.

  5. Could those fly-overs be sandhill cranes? Or maybe wood storks (which always look like big awkward flying saucers to me)? And really: who cares? You look happy enough for all of us, happy to last for always. Or at least for this moment, which if we're honest, is really what we *have*. Love, love.
