Dear Ms. Moon,
Why are you wearing that red skirt?
Just wondering,
Curious
Dear Curious,
Because it is my favorite skirt in the world.
Yours truly,
Ms. Moon
Dear Ms. Moon,
Why is that your favorite skirt in the world?
Your friend,
Curiouser
Dear Curiouser,
Because it is the skirt I was wearing when I heard my grandbaby's heart beat for the first time. Thanks for asking.
Love,
Ms. Moon
Whoo! Was it happy times at the Birth Center?
ReplyDeleteYou betcha!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I had everything crossed for you all after I read your post earlier! Happy happy day!!
ReplyDeleteThere's no finer sound in the world to hear - until you hear the baby's first cry.
ReplyDeleteRiotGrrl- Thanks for the positive thoughts. I KNEW all was well, but it was sure nice to hear the proof.
ReplyDeleteMOB- Jeez. I know you're right.
So glad you got to hear that magic sound! There are times when technology really can be a blessing.
ReplyDeleteThose little beans can be so stubborn sometimes, can't they? My OB knows I'm a nervous nut-job, and would have the portable u/s machine on hand every appointment until 15 weeks JUST IN CASE he couldn't find it with the doppler. He only used it once at 9 weeks, and it was very reassuring.
I hope your Lily is in for 9 months of uneventfulness, technologically speaking...
Rachel- Thank-you. It was so nice to be back at the birth center where I worked and to hear that baby's heartbeat and to remember when I went in and heard my youngest daughter's heartbeat for the first time.
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect moment.
i just realized how so different us impoverished third-world from you guys. moms here dont listen to the baby's heartbeat from the womb with the use of technology, they just feel their pulse and know that there is another heart beating inside them.
ReplyDeleteAh, Ms. Butterfly- I trusted my own intuition of how this baby is. But what I heard today (just a doppler audio, not a sonogram) was beautiful music to my ears.
ReplyDeleteBut you- you are right.
Babies. Le sigh.
ReplyDeleteGingerMagnolia- Yes.
ReplyDeletesuch happiness! i can only imagine what sort of moment that was for you and lily. congrats, gramma moon!
ReplyDeleteand it is a lovely red skirt
ReplyDeleteThank-you, AJ. It's also very comfy. And can be morphed into a dress if the situation calls for such nonsense.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! :D
