Sunday. So Far.
Oak snake in hen house. He'd sucked the goodness out of an egg, not bothering to swallow it, shell and all.
Smart snake.
Mr. Moon put him in a pillow case and drove him to Lloyd Creek and let him out.
Lucky snake.
Storm coming in. And then it poured. Okay, the "film" is really boring up until the grand finale where I get sort of...um, unnerved. I don't blame you if you don't want to watch it.
Whoa! That was so surreal to watch and listen to something I just watched and listened to for real... That pop was unnerving. It felt like it hit the side of our house and I JUMPED like a fish out of water!
ReplyDeleteI'm still amazed the power didn't go off. There's a film maker in you Mary Moon, there is.
xo PS verify word: hydrat...?
Raining here too. New kitten to baby, and am making meatloaf and asparagus. There --that's my blog entry for the day, right there in your comments :) Love.
ReplyDeleteWV: Sphie. Kinda like Stephie :)
Oh, the South does sure know how to throw a good thunderstorm!
ReplyDeleteI'm honestly surprised you did let out a "yelp" when that thunder struck.
ReplyDeleteYour Sunday looks beautiful, my mama love.
O my Lord! I jumped when I got to the end!!!! I would have been running to hide under the bed along with all the dogs and cats. Wow! So is that typical thunder / lightening storm for Florida? We get pathetic storms of the noise maker type. Now rain is heavy at times though still not like a squall.
ReplyDeleteA snake...glad not one snake has gone in our hen house....
What a Sunday...for you.
Woo! There was a downpour here the other day and I was watching my garden glowing green and the water bouncing off the decking and thinking about videoing it, but in the end I was too lazy. And there would have been no exciting climax like yours had!
ReplyDeletewhile i have been away you have crammed a weeks worth of living in each singular day.
ReplyDeletehow i love your goings on, your reveries, your cathedral of sundays.
how you nurture me....
oh how sweet it is to be back.
xxoxoxoxoxxo,
rebecca
I was loving the sound of the rain and thunder -- we get so little of that in these parts -- and then I practically jumped out of my skin! I DON'T miss that part!
ReplyDeleteAlso raining. Also canning. Parallel lives.
ReplyDeleteWe had a strong one this morning as well. It was a good ole fashioned thunder buster.
ReplyDeleteWheeeeee! A PERFECT Sunday post! All fire and brimstone, if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteAnd POW! Lots of POW!
(We got our gully washer yesterday and we needed it something awful!)
Oooh, your video was not boring. Great crash, glad it didn't get you! I tape storms all the time - husband and I are weather junkies, especially lightning.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are awesome. handsome snake, lucky too. How long was it? Looks huge. Elvis is a perfectly dashing rooster. Thanks for the pics. Your little peppers made me think of that peck of pickled peppers tongue twister!
Ms. Fleur- That was a corker, wasn't it! Phew!
ReplyDeleteSJ- That's more than I'm doing.
Nola- No kidding!
HoneyLuna- I know. I sort of surprised myself. I must not be a yelper.
Ellen- Yes. That is pretty typical. We get lots of lightening and thunder very nearby. Sometimes TOO near. And we have many snakes. They are bound to get in the hen house.
Jo- Well, that one was certainly unplanned.
rebecca- It is sweetness itself to have YOU back. Are you okay? I have worried.
Elizabeth- Keeps us on our toes.
Nancy C- Well, those peppers are all I got done. Took me about a damn hour, though. I swear.
Syd- They will clear the air, won't they?
Ms. Trouble- You're right! Fire and brimstone! Ha!
Mel- Nah. He wasn't a very big snake. Only about a yard long. Skinny. He'll not be fattening up on my eggs, though!
I also haven't gotten out of my pajamas....from this morning.
ReplyDeleteLove your film.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I miss "real" weather.
(I jumped at the end too.)
xo
SJ- Sounds very good to me.
ReplyDeleteLisa (Mother of Bob)- Well. We do have real weather here. And we huddle in the house while it happens. And usually lose our power.
Snakes are totally fascinating. And that was one lucky snake. Didn't the last one get his head chopped off? I will listen to your video now. :)
ReplyDeleteI love a good thunder storm. We need rain here too--glad you got a bit. That Elvis is a fine bird.
ReplyDeleteIt's to bad we can't mark the snakes that get in the hen house. I'd be curious to know if they ever come back from exile.
ReplyDeleteLove the bottle, and Elvis the rooster, my kids would love to run around with him (it would give our puppy a much needed break!).
ReplyDeleteHappy start to the new week, I'm hoping for some pouring rain myself here...
The bottle looks good.
ReplyDeleteThe snake photo is awesome. Pleased you treated it so humanely.
Have a nice day, Boonie
I'd have dropped the camera!
ReplyDeleteScary snake. I will watch the film.
ReplyDeleteI've has too many close encounters with lightening this summer. I would have screamed and drove through the front door.
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of Elvis and I just love that front porch of yours!
Thanks for the snake picture. You know how I love to be scared.
ReplyDeleteLove youse.
Nicol- Well, the one before last got his head chopped off.
ReplyDeleteLora- Yep. Elvis is a real fine rooster.
DTG- Me too!
Terresa- Elvis seems to like children. I hope you got some rain!
Boonie S- Mr. Moon is a good guy.
Magnum- I can't believe I didn't.
Angie M- I hope the thunder didn't scare you.
Mel's Way- It IS a nice porch.
Thank-you. And I used to feel that way about lightening and thunder too. I've gotten a bit better.
Ms. Bastard-Beloved- I thought of you when I posted it.
