Terrible Pictures Of Good People. And Dogs. And Bacon.

Zeke and Dolly. Waiting for bacon.

Pearl. Pleading for bacon by looking really, really sad.

Jessie and Mr. Moon, posing for a picture. They are happy because they're about to eat bacon.

Pearl with her tablecloth head scarf. Looking really, really sad. While waiting for bacon.
You would too if you were a hundred and ninety years old, which she is if you figure her age in Boxer dog years.
She still loves bacon, though. And although she can't see or hear, she sure can smell. And likes the feel of something on her head. And bacon.

  1. I am in love with Pearl. To prove it, I will share my bacon with her. It's that serious.

  2. Mmmm, bacon...

Around here everyone gets pretty excited when the bacon starts frying, including me. There are always a couple extra pieces cooked just for doggies. How can something they say is so bad for us be so damn good?!

And what else does an old blind and deaf dog have to live for than bacon. I hope someone shared a nibble. This morning my crew had to get by with waffles...we were out of bacon.

  3. Oh Bacon. How we love you. I am a sucker for the sad doggie eyes too.
You're a good woman making everyone bacon. Happy Sunday.

  4. And I am a sucker for posts about dogs. Especially dogs who wear head scarves while they wait for a taste of bacon. Zeke and Dolly look pretty irresistible, too.

One of these days I'll have to post a photo of my dog posing as a Renaissance Madonna using the living room curtains. It's quite moving.

Hope you enjoyed those pancakes (and the bacon.)

    Your daughter is quite lovely...

  5. Oh, I loves me that bacon....the smell of it, the crunch of it, the taste of it, even the grease of it.

I loves me this post too. And YOU.

  8. I totally expected a better photo of the bacon.....and the little Yorkie, reminds me of my mom's old dog. Sweet little girl lived to be 15 years old and when she was around 4-8 years old, she weighed 6 pounds and was ....OBESE!! All dogs go to Heaven, right? She was a very special little girl.

  9. I would let Pearl have all my bacon since I don't eat it. Maybe when I am as old as Pearl someone will feed me some.

  10. God, I love bacon. It's really the only thing that separates me from the vegetarian --

  14. Lisa- Pearl is pretty lovable. But she is just as happy with bacon grease as she is with bacon so it all works out.

Mel's Way- See above about the bacon for the dogs. I take the grease and let some of their dry food soak in it and then give it to them. They are ecstatic!

Mel- Jessie helped make the bacon. And prevented me from cooking it ALL!

Leslie- Yes. My daughter is lovely. So are my other daughters. And my son, too, even if they did not come out for pancakes.

    Lo- And I love you!

Jo- Well, not a lot happens in Lloyd, you know.

DTG- I wish you'd been here.

Rebecca- All dogs ARE in heaven when there is bacon to be eaten.

    Syd- I would!

Elizabeth- I always say- Bacon: the vegetarian's favorite meat!

    Ellen- Don't they?

N2- Okay! Our tomatoes are so long gone. We are going to try for a fall crop. Probably with no success.

    Angie M- You're sweet, girl.

  15. PEARL!!!!! Maybe you should get Pearl a damn headscarf. I think she would dig it.

My sight and hearing suck shit too, but my taste and smelling are JUST FINE. Thank Jesus, as my great aunt would say.
