Today. So Far.

Ah, ah. The phone rang at seven thirty-something. It was Kathleen. She had been in horrible pain all night. A pain had shot through her leg and ended in her foot and then her foot had swollen and I won't even quote the line she said about "excruciating pain" because it's such a good one that she needs to use it on her own blog.
I hope she does.
I got some crutches and we went to the doctor who had no idea what the matter was. He sent her to get an X-ray. They could see the old break in that foot but no new one. My theory is that she had a powerful spasm which twisted those previously injured tendons out of place. Sounds right to me.

And while we were at the doctor we got the message that our dear Jan, who has been in the hospital the last few days with a kidney problem, is having to get dialysis today. This is not good. Sometimes it feels like everything is coming down upon us at once, the sky is falling, yes, Chicken Little, it is.

But anyway, Kathleen is home now with her foot up and has ice on it and has taken her drugs and the play will happen tonight, even without Jan although she will be sorely missed.

And that is where I have been today. No haiku for me. I am too tired to peel a thought down to its tastiest core. I didn't sleep well again last night.
But overall, it is a beautiful day and for that I am grateful, and for so much more.

Happy Friday, y'all. Hug the ones you love. Tenderly and with passion. Do it now.

Love...Ms. Moon

  13. Dang Mama. That's a tough day. I hope for your sake you can get some good sleep tonight. I sure love you.

Oh, and I'm sorry for not calling you when I got into Jacksonville. I made it safely and happily, as you can see, although I'm not so excited to be getting up tomorrow around 5:30 for the clinical.

I'll give you a call sometime tomorrow night.
